APP; Washington stunned by ASH's Punt Call

Certainly not Monday Morning QB. Everyone in our section thought you go for it there, playing a ranked team well as a severe underdog. Ash needed to roll the dice there and has to play less close to the vest a bit more; my only criticism of him. Otherwise well done vs. a way better team.

    Politi's Article On The Season

I get that the coach has to give a positive spin, but saying 10 losses "isn't bad"? Yeesh.

    Whiny Bitch Harbaugh

If Harbaugh had any stones, he'd have taken his QB's advice and gone for 2 in the 1st OT and either won or lost the game right there. I guess it's easy to go for 2 against a far inferior team when up by 4 TDs 10 minutes in, but when you play the big boys it isn't so easy. Enjoy the Orange Bowl...

ND lost again- couldn't happen to a better coach

CFB officials are working behind the scenes to get ND a BCS berth still; altering the rules to make teams that wear Navy and Gold...and sometimes green w/clovers...and have .333 records eligible.

It's great to read a news piece like this; much luck to Mr. Flanigan

    Three Noon kickoffs announced

It's time to return to the American conference; Thursday night games worked best for most peoples' schedules, but only if 8 p.m. The 7 p.m. start were a little too early, but the 9 p.m porridge was a bit too hot.

OT - Canadian HS hoopster said he was 17, actually 30

Remember, similar to the exchange rate, a 29-year-old Canadian is 17 years old U.S.

    Hey Folks --

I'm pretty sure, Chris, that the same people who bitched about the broadcast also would have been disappointed had RU done what Nebraska did, letting a young kid w/cancer suit up and run for a TD; spring game's about serious business and getting important reps for the 8th-string RB in crunch...

    OT: RIP Ken Howard

Former Chicago Bull power forward beset by injuries who ended up coaching high school ball in inner city Los Angeles before the program was shut down in 1981.

Basketball Practice Facilities Breaking Ground This Summer

You 100% sure ground-breaking means beginning of construction phase, or is it planting some fall mums that'll spruce up the space until eventual construction?

    Cronin to UNLV?

Of course this is a guy we could have pursued but never seem to give such spending a thought. The more the coaching carousel turns, the more amateurish and low-budget we look. Depressing.

    Realistic expectations for next season

Zero juice in the program and a dead RAC again is my forecast. In typical Rutgers fashion, we under-hired and acted like an Atlantic 10 program again...2 conferences ago. One thing in the new coach's favor is having one of the best guards in the league return, assuming he returns. Otherwise...

Now I look forward to facility improvement announcements.

I believe that report to be false, regarding commitment to Hurley about facilities. A good source tells me the lack of promise on a practice facility and other upgrades by year X was ultimately the reason Hurley withdrew from consideration.

    Hire Kevin Boyle

If ethics are your thing, then stop watching college basketball.

    Hire Kevin Boyle

I totally agree w/the OP. Then, throw money to lure Holloway away from SHU and really start recruiting the area. Boyle's basically been coaching college teams already in a H.S. setting and is probably within our budget.

Jay Williams has Withdrawn from Consideration

Exactly, RUnTeX. I covered both way back when as a high school sports writer and both were outstanding guys and players; but I first don't buy Williams' timeline for reasons (strip FT shooting, as he responded to me on Twitter last night) he bypassed RU. Do I blame him for picking Duke...

Jay Williams has Withdrawn from Consideration

Exactly what we needed...a guy who played within walking distance of RU, wouldn't consider playing for RU, and tossed his name in the ring as Jordan's replacement. Yeah, that's the guy some of you wanted. Fools.

    Danny Hurley - Rhode Island

DH was NEVER coming here, as I said in other posts. RU is stupid enough to think they Hurleys give a rats tail about Rutgers. Simple as that. Pops always has opinions on how Rutgers can succeed, but more lip service and they all know it's not worth the risk of coming to RU to sully the family's...
