Cappie to join Team USA

That was a very nice article, both in terms of recapping Cappie's career as well as for its brief history of the illustrious USA national team. Quite a story of dominance.

Thanks for posting.

Good luck to Cappie. I hope she makes the squad for the 2016 Olympics.

I am still waiting for Rutgers to retire her number and have a banner hanging at the RAC.She was a all American in college ,led her team to a WNBA championship and has been a member of prior Olympic teams. There are very few Rutgers athletes with such a resume.

Rutgers hasn't retired Cappie's number? I thought that two women have had their numbers retired - one of them being Sue Wicks. If not Cappie, who was the other?

Thanks.

June Olkowski.

IIRC, the criteria is first team all-American.

Cappie meets that requirement.

One issue in retiring her jersey might be that it may be difficult so long as she is playing overseas, since it's usually done at a game.
