Maryland 2-0 in NCAA Baseball Tourney

The B1G has had a banner baseball season so far. Five teams earned NCAA tournament bids. Two teams (Illinois and UMD) are still in the winners bracket heading into the regional finals. Maryland is one win away from its second consecutive Super Regional appearance.

Big Ten Athletics have been generally strong this year. With just three sports needing to crown champions, the B1G has 8 teams in the top-25 of the current Directors' Cup standings:

#5 Ohio State
#10 Wisconsin
#14 Minnesota
#18 Michigan
#19 Maryland
#23 Michigan State
#25 Nebraska

The ACC, PAC 12, and SEC each have just 5 teams in the top 25.

MD advances to Super Regional to face Virginia.

Ugh. I can't stand UVa and love beating them in any sport, especially sports they care about like baseball. I hope Maryland can pay them back for beating us to get to the CWS last season.

Illinois made it to the Super Regional, too. It'd be great if the B1G could get two teams into the CWS. I believe that'd be a first in the history of the conference.
