With the problems at New Jersey City U not surprisingly questions come about their ability to utilize the property in Eatontown.
Regular readers know I was a proponent of expanding public higher ed to the location and the Jersey Shore region.
But never thought that was RU's battle to fight. We have other priorities.
If any legislator thinks RU should step up they need to bring a comparable increase in appropriations.

State senator calls for NJCU to turn over Fort Monmouth to another state university

That is a very small space, and I doubt Rutgers is interested in the administrative headaches they would be taking on for what is essentially an office building.

15 Classrooms, a computer lab, a "nursing education center" and some lounges. Sounds more like a Brookdale satellite campus than an RU one.

There are a lot more buildings and land around that which is unoccupied. West Point Prep used to be housed on the Fort and I believe the dorms are still standing. When the Fort was first BRACED, my understanding was Rutgers and a few other schools inquired about it.
