Anyone going to AC this weekend?

Just checked, no rooms at Borgata and 500+ per night at Harrahs...

Do people really pay this much to stay in AC nowadays?

Every holiday weekend is like that. You should see the New Years Eve Prices for a crappy room.
You have to understand most rooms are occupied by people getting comped rooms and 20 somethings with 4 or more to a room.

This. When we were younger we would pack the rooms and split it so it wouldn't be so bad. Now we all get comped rooms.

You could give me a free room and I wouldn't step foot in that town this weekend.

So 10's of thousands of people are wrong? And you're right? Got it...

I'm with WhiteBus on this one. Too crowded on 4th of July weekend. If crowds do not bother you, fine. But if you are looking to get into restaurants, bars or even at a table in a casino, it will be packed. Not everybody's cup of tea. It's not wrong or right, it's a choice.

Stayed Sunday night at the Seaview in Galloway, just on the mainland across from AC, for only $100. Gorgeous old hotel/resort with 36 holes of championship golf (has hosted numerous tournaments, including majors, over the last 100 years or so), great rooms, great staff (run by Stockton now and they're all learning the hotel trade, so they're all eager to help) and great food. Don't know about 7/4 prices but worth looking at if you don't mind a 10 minute drive into AC.

To quote the famous father of a prominent poster: "Nobody goes there any more. It's too crowded."

Exactly. Yogi ' s most genius line ever.
I don't wait in line ever for a restaurant, never pay a cover charge for a bar, will wait for the next Droid after the masses get theirs. Time is money. If your time is irrelevant than go wait in line but I have better things to do.
