You have to tip your hat to former Buffalo AD Danny White who hired both Lance Leipold for football and Nate Oats for hoops.
Both Leipold and Oats have produced quantum leaps for their Kansas and Alabama programs.
Nate Oats is 11 years removed from being a high school head coach.
Danny White is now at Tennessee.
Read his bio … certainly he has the genes for a Div-1 AD.

He hired Heupel at UCF and Tenn and he’s been a solid HC so far.

It runs in the family considering his dad and two brothers are in athletics administration or coaching.

I’m kind of surprised OSU wouldn’t have looked at someone like him to replace Gene Smith instead of Ross Bjork who they hired.
