I forget when it was.. but a few years ago I learned some SL guys were finalists for some award.. I actually took the time to source and email someone on the selection committee explaining why they were a bad choice given the history of the story regarding Schiano's "hidden" pay and the "scandal" involving Mulcahy. I explained how this "investigative" report worthless because the details uncovered were actually published in that same newspaper a year earlier than these reporters "uncovered" it.

Surprisingly... I received a thoughtful reply thanking me.

I can only hope I had some small impact that lead to all applications for prizes by the SL to be looked at more carefully. I doubt it.. but one can hope.

(JK, I was a journalism major. The Pulitzer Prize is the first thing I think of when I think "Pulitzer.")







But didn't the SL win a Pulitzer several years ago for something?
