Swarthmore's endowment is over $1 million per student

it is always easier to make money when you have it. How much of their endowment is spent each year in a school with 2k students vs Rutgers and its 40k+?

Perhaps Swarthmore's logic is: "the richer the people you admit, the more big contributions you'll get and the higher the endowment will be, and the more money we can spend on rich students (and a few scholarships to the poor to make it look good)."

Could've sworn we had a thread by that very same logic on this forum a few months back. It was about how RU could become more appealing to NJ's upper middle class.

Not exactly, We didn't have a thread on favoring applicants from prosperous families. Instead, we had a thread on how to encourage such kids to apply, which is not the same thing.
