How much does it cost to go to college in N.J.?: Tuition at 4-year colleges continue to rise

1. I have no sympathy for anyone that chooses to go to a private school. Hopefully they get alot of schollies or aid. If not it was your decision

2. Blame the state for high state school tuition. We all know the state is spending less in actual dollars (no adjusted for inflation) than they did 10-20 years ago. Guess what, the state funds less the students have to pay more. HOWEVER the dopes in this state keep voting in the same a$$ hats election after election

Some students and parents, for better or worse, prefer smaller colleges, even those that do not have Rutgers' lustre. I have two colleagues who could have sent their kids to Rutgers free, but felt the kids would be better off at Union or Kean. Some kids just aren't cut out for the size and complexity of New Brunswick/Piscataway.

What a weird thing to say. Are they five? Do they plan on living in Mayberry after graduation and working for a mom and pop store?

What you meant to say is they want to be coddled a little while longer and are willing to pay lots of money for it.

Also - everyone knows that no one pays sticker for these colleges.

Wow talk about being way off. Just because people prefer a smaller college environment doesn't mean they expect to be sheltered in Mayberry all their life. Some people prefer smaller colleges for many entirely legitimate reasons.

Well depending on your major, you can get a lot of that at one of the schools at Rutgers. It's only as big OR small as you make it.

Cook people know this already.
