Your raw NET score, in a similar vein, isn't especially meaningful for selection. It's just there to reflect your relative strength related to other programs. Selection is not based on strength, but on what you have accomplished, which is what the quadrants are for.

It's not perfect, no system will be for all teams, but adding in wins and losses to the ranking system would make it worse, not better, imo.

With RPI it was rare for a team outside the top 50 to get selected (and virtually impossible for midmajors). You could look at it for a quick and dirty picture. NET doesn’t seem to provide that. It cares a ton and punishes heavily for a bad day where a team finds a way to win.

SDSU for example is getting crucified for needing OT vs Air Force. Who cares? They won the game. We lost to Kennesaw. The two things are vastly different. On another day they beat Houston on a neutral floor. We didn’t beat Alabama. They are NET 50. We are NET 72. If they take a loss and we win another game we’d be close to even. There’s no way that should be the case. We’re right where we deserve to be IMO. SDSU should be in the low 30s.

For sorting at the bottom I do agree NET is likely a good deal better. In a pool comparing a collection of teams with bad records, RPI rewards the teams that lost to teams with better records point blank. This renders the bottom half of the pack rankings pretty worthless. My contention is that the systems that prioritize results do a better job at evaluating for all purposes (sorting included in the top 150 or so) which is really what’s most important.

But the Euro/UK were both better at 12Z and the HRRR decrease was kind of expected as it was a pretty big outlier - it's now fairly similar to the Euro/CMC. The NAM may end up right, but it's still fairly lonely with partial support from the GFS (but it's lower resolution could be messing up those graphics from what I've been told). There's no doubt though that there's been a trend for less precip (so less snow/sleet) SW of NYC and especially SW of about New Brunswick and a trend for more sleet than snow SW of NYC.

It's possible one could see 0.4" QPF in philly as half sleet/half ZR, 0.6" of QPF in NB with 1/4 snow, 1/2 Sleet and 1/4 ZR and 0,8" of QPF in NYC with 1/2 snow and half sleet and little ZR. That's not a prediction, per se, but just showing the trend one is likely to see for less precip and more non-snow as one goes SW from NYC to Philly.

Since 2020, Greg 2; we are 0-13 against ranked opponents, 0-14 if you include the Gator Bowl. Of those, we are 0-9 combined against Michigan Ohio State and Penn State, not too many programs have had wins against them in the years we lost to them. The other losses we had were Indiana in 20, Michigan State in 21, Iowa in 23 and Illinois by 7 this year. We need a win, it’s an embarrassing statistic, but from where we were after Ash, it’s really not that surprising.

Sedgley is about as old as the course at RU - love that place. Playing later today - I try to play 5 days a week even in winter - I hate "exercising" but I don't mind it at all when I get some exercise playing a sport; same for soccer which was cancelled for tomorrow as some of the guys don't enjoy playing in the snow (we did that last Sunday and I had a blast, but there was some whining lol).
