Indiana Fever fire their Coach

I do agree that they checked with Clark - I also think that Sides was likely going to go because it didn't appear that she could develop Clark and the team as well as other coaches out there could. What I don't think is that Clark demanded a coaching change (which does not mean she didn't want one).

As it currently stands, WNBA players really don't have the power that NBA players have. OTH, driving a lot of the coaching changes is the fact that most of the league will be free agents after the next season (as players structured their contracts with the new media contract that comes in 2 seasons in mind) and teams are trying to position themselves to "look attractive" to free agents. I don't think Sides was a positive.

OT: Syracuse’s New Fieldhouse opening next month

We had our BCS bowl shots against WV in ‘06 and Louisville in 2012 and blew them. Very difficult to win on the cheap. He is going to make every effort to maximize his results, but it won’t be easy. With our present level of support, we are probably looking at 4-7 wins most years.

Terry Shea brought a modern West Coast Offense to Rutgers in ‘96. He could never recruit enough kids to properly run it. People swore up and down for years and years that all we needed to do was run the spread, and then we would be successful.
Now the latest ask is an offensive minded head coach.

It’s all nonsense. In the college game it’s the alignees that matter most, not the alignment.
You can’t get the best alignees if your value proposition is weaker than the competition. Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan have access to a pool of high caliber recruits that wouldn’t give Rutgers a second look. Because they can see that Rutgers doesn’t have the support of the aforementioned programs. Quincy Porter from Bergen Catholic is a prime example of such a recruit who is going to Ohio State.

If our quarterback was slightly more Accurate against Nebraska, UCLA, and USC, no one would be talking about how we need a modern offense. He just has to get better.
coaching perhaps?
