OT: Your stories of a brush with famous people.

Went to the Cutting Room in Manhattan to see the John Corbett Band. My wife (ex#2 again) was a big fan of Sex and the City and Corbett was in it along with the Cutting Room's co-owner Chris Noth. After the show everyone was hanging out at the bar. Noth was putting a move on my wife. Didn't bother me since I had been introduced to Corbett's girl friend........Bo Derek.
She was very gracious and posed for a picture with me.

Here is the reality on "running an offense ".....

I disagree with part of this premise. For starters, we do have 3 guys shooting above 35% from three (Acuff, Bailey, Martini). Pike doesn’t usually manage to land the shooters he wants, but that’s not the same thing as not prioritizing shooting. We can speculate all we want about why that is, but look at the guys he was going after before we eventually landed on Dercack and Hayes.

Matt Alocco was probably our biggest target early in the offseason. He’s a career 42% 3 point shooter and is currently shooting 47% on 3.5 attempts per game.

Jadon Jones was another guy we targeted this offseason. He hasn’t played at all this year because he hurt his back before Oklahoma’s season opener, but he’s a career 37% three point shooter.

Acuff is shooting 39% from 3 this year and has the best percentage on the team. Ideally I’d prefer if he were averaging more than 2.8 attempts per game.

Even Martini, he’s had a disappointing season for sure, but one thing he is at least doing is shooting the three decently well. At 36% he’s shooting the third highest percentage on the team behind Acuff and Bailey.

Your second point about misusing shooters is something that I think is valid. Acuff, Bailey and Martini should all be taking more attempts.
You make some good points, Pike obviously does target shooters in recruiting but I don’t think it’s one of the key points he looks for in a player. We have gotten some talented offensive players under Pike, but the bigger issue is probably not getting enough looks for the shooters that we do have.

However, when it comes to guards particularly, we need to target and land better shooters. Perimeter players simply need to be legitimate threats from deep. Teams practically beg our guards to shoot, outside of Dylan.

Men’s Lacrosse Headed to No. 12 Army Saturday

It's been two years. Our offense up until 22 was often very good.

Seremet the OC needs to go. He has an offense that relies entirely on guys running by their guys and plays two guys in Kulas and Kelly who are just pure shooters at attack. It completely bogs down the offense even if that did work. We get no cutters, ball movement is awful, and guys just stand around and watch. It all makes us incredibly easy to guard. A team as savvy as Army on D will eat this for breakfast.

Worst part is our D is legit, we have guys in the middle of the field, and our faceoffs are strong.

This is how bad our offense is- we won every faceoff and are still down 6-1. If we had a pulse on offense we'd be winning this game.

It's not the players. There is simply no offensive scheme outside of fast breaks.
Yea exactly. Needed to be gone last year. No excuse. It’s not a talent issue it’s lack of scheme.

I took my wife (ex wife #2 ) to Sunday Brunch at Tavern on the Green. I went to the men's room and standing next to me at the urinal was Peter O'Toole. As we both zipped up I said to him how much I loved his work. His response was "Thank you but obviouly I'm not shaking hands right now."

That same day Leroy Neiman was sitting two tables from us.

I believe it. Look at how many of the premier wrestlers aren’t wrestling every dual. It’s not always about ducking the competition. It’s about being ready for the title run. Who cares if you go 20-0 in the dual season but have no legs when it comes to tourney time.
I agree with this.. Cael introduced the load management era and the gameplay truly is to wrestle as few matches as possible while still giving you best chance at nationals+ being healthy… look at how few matches are wrestled in today’s era compared to when Cael wrestled..
