OT: Identity Theft - Lawyers

Hi friends, a friend of mine had his identity stolen because his tax accountant uses Intuit and apparently had a breach, 10 people from their group had their returns exposed, and so someone tried to file a tax return in his name - luckily the IRS must have some theft protection deal, because they sent a letter saying to verify it was them.

The accountants office sent out notices to the 10 people, and offered to pay a free 1-year ID theft protection program.

He’s done all the things like call the 3 credit bureaus and set up the ID protection, and opened a new credit card to check and make sure they did the verification, and it worked.

The question, is it worth lawyering up against the tax place? Apparently, there are 3 year and 7 year ID protection programs also, but the place is only paying for 1 year. Also, there is a class action lawsuit that is being done against the accountants office, he got an email from the lawyers.

Anyone with experience with this? Is it worth it to do the class action? Or rather find a good lawyer and do it individually? And any lawyer recommendations if so?

Thanks!

Rutgers vs MSU - The Matchups

1 - A.J. Hoggard (6’4” Jr.), Tre Holloman (6’2” Fr.)

2 - Tyson Walker (6’0” Sr.)

3 - Jaden Akins (6’4” So.), Pierre Brooks II (6’5” So.)

4 - Joey Hauser (6’9” Sr.), Jason Whitens (6’6” Sr.)

5 - Mady Sissoko (6’9” Jr.), Jaxon Kohler (6’9” Fr.), Carson Cooper (6’11” Fr.)

Injured: Malik Hall (6’8” Sr.)

Walker is the obvious problem matchup. He is super quick and got into the lane at will last game. He does a great job of keeping his dribble alive. Rutgers shuts down Walker and we win this game. Does he see Caleb or Mag to bother him with more length? The help D will be crucial. Does Rutgers swarming D force TOs from Walker when he penetrates?

If Pike does decide to try some Caleb on Walker, Mag could take Hoggard and shift Paul on Hauser. It'll be interesting to see what Pike has schemed up.

We will have the size advantage on the perimeter as usual. Paul needs to get back to his groove on offense. Let's hope Cam and Mag continue their hot streak

Can the bench step up and contribute a bit more in a huge road game?

MSU rallies with no Hall first game without him. Second game without a key player is sometimes where it really hurts after the initial emotional rally

The Athletic: Can Steve Pikiell, Rutgers be Stopped?

from the article:

Look up Steve Pikiell and Rutgers in the dictionary after this recent stretch and it says “Who do you think you are? I am.” The winning and being a yearly NCAA Tournament contender is one thing, but the huge recruiting win has me dreaming of perennial top 25 program as long as coach Pikiell is here. Possibility or am I getting too far ahead of myself? – David C.

Dana: Dream big, David. Pikiell has awakened the sleeping giant that is Rutgers basketball. He’s a terrific coach, that’s the basis of it, and has been winning in the incredibly competitive Big Ten without comparable talent. Now he’s getting talent? Um, yes. Look out. Ace Bailey’s commitment is like a flare shot into the sky for Rutgers. Hey, we’re here! The Scarlet Knights’ biggest obstacle has been getting noticed. Everyone comes into the Northeast and pilfers the goods, because no one considers staying at Rutgers. Bailey makes RU cool again.

Rutgers’ brass wisely signed Pikiell to an extension, with a good-sized (though not impossible to overcome) $15 million buyout last year. The good times, I believe, are finally coming to the banks of the old Raritan.

Brian: I grew up 14 miles northeast of what is now Jersey Mike’s Arena. I spent a great chunk of my formative years wondering at the basketball talent in my home state, in large part because my own ability fell hilariously short of what might be called “good.” The thought has never left my mind since: How can schools in New Jersey be so bad when there are so many unreal prospects right there?

The answer, as Dana noted, is the coaches didn’t build something that might convince those players to stay. That might be changing. My only concern: When a coach like Steve Pikiell starts bringing in high-end prospects, he better be sure they’re built to work like two- or three-star kids. That’s the only language Pikiell speaks. Entitlement can wreck the whole operation, just when things are starting to look good. Careful what you wish for, and all that.

Rewatched OSU game last night/Pikell's T et al

Well as many of us are saying its about time Pikell got a T!! Did what it was supposed to do lit a fire under us and we did get a few calls; Since I was at the game I didn't notice what happened but man Pikell came all the way down the court almost to the OSU bench before he got Teed up; the play itself there were 2 blatant fouls on the rebound; the first was Key completely pushed Cam Spencer in the back and sent him flying and of course Caleb got fouled by Thornton going up for the rebound; I actually thought the push on Spencer was worse than the Caleb non call
As an aside later in the second for what has to be the fourth time in recent games there was a play where on the rebound Thornton was out of bounds and came back in and was the first one to touch the ball this of course led to two points but Thornton was clearly out of bounds stepped back in and was the first one to touch the ball amazing how this call can keep being missed do no refs watch this its ridiculous this keeps happening
