Great day at Rutgers thanks to Mrs. Claus

Wife got us 2nd row court side seats for the game tonight. She said lets make a day of it. We are currently sitting in the Legrand Coffee house. An unexpected great surprise Big E. Met us at the door and we had a great chat. Was excited to hear we were going to the game ( he is going to). Tried to get him to spill any info on the next OC. Laughed and said that he knows nothing but will ask Scott Vallone as he is meeting him later. Told him I had my brother in law in grab bag. Got him a LeGrand hat and coffee and he loved it. Eric was so happy to hear it. His coffee house is fantastic. Got a great danish and Hot chocolate. Now off to Scarlet Fever, the bookstore and Stuff Yer Face before the game.

Open Post to RHSR

The question of where Dylan will go is in his hands ... but he needs the support and wisdom from you, his mother his brother (the Purdue /Indians killer ) and ultimately Dylan's heart.

At Rutgers, we've been down this road before :

Jay Williams ...chose Duke
Lance Thomas ....chose Duke

Where are the statutes, the adulation the undying support & gratitude of the Duke faithful for Williams / Thomas? RHJr is in our collective consciousness / DNA and is a story that will be told & re-told to all Rutgers fans, alums and family: in short Immortality.

What will be greater... local NJ product a consensus top 10 (or higher) helps Duke to title # X? Or the local hero and brother of one of Rutgers greatest players decides to stay home and lead his people , like Moses, out of the Wasteland and into the Promised land.: for title #. 1?

Rutgers doesn't forget its heroes from Bucky Hatchett,Lloyd & Valvano, Sellers Dabney Bailey Jordan Copeland .... to Hinson, Troy, Black, Douby , Geo Cliff And RHJR - shots against Purdue and Indy.

The RAC/ Jersey Mikes Arena - now CVS court ...may have to add the name
Harper Center Court.

Stat of the game (maybe even decade): 30 assists on 34 FGs

Simply amazing - talk about sharing the ball and having great ball and personnel movement - holy crap that stat is amazing. They said it was the most assists for RU since 1992, but it's not just the high number of assists, it's the stratospheric ratio of assists to FGs, too. Thought we played good defense (not great) tonight, but played fantastic offense and have been playing pretty well on O for a few games. Nice to see such good balance. Can't wait for the Purdue game and the rest of the season - feeling unusually optimistic, lol.

Back the NIL Brinks truck for him?

Actually came in the portal a few days ago didn't notice during the holiday. He started right tackle this year but has played left tackle.....in the SEC...

I know you guys are saying what is the connection to Rutgers how are we going to get him la de da de da but we are never going to have a connection to a good left tackle. So you might as well go after someone without a connection and give him playing time on a team with a bunch of Florida kids.

If you wanted to upgrade the OL this is the guy to do it.

Sun Bowl: PITT vs UCLA preview

I believe Vegas has #18 ranked UCLA (9-3) as a 5.5 pt favorite over PITT (8-4) which surprises me a bit (thought it would be much higher due to circumstances).

UCLA will be playing with most of their players including their QB Robinson and great RB Charbonnet who had 1359 yds this season and is projected to go in 3rd or 4th NFL Draft Rounds.

Pitt on the other hand will be without 6 starters (3 on O and 3 on D) who chose to not play for various reasons.

The two most significant loses (IMO) will be Pitt starting QB Kendon Slovis (passed for 2400 yds this year) and went into the transfer portal and will be playing for BYU next year and Pitt RB Izzy Abanikanda. This year Izzy had 1436 rushing yds for Pitt and scored 20 TDs. Izzy who completed his sophmore year is not playing and will declare for the NFL draft this year. Izzy was a Rivals 3-star player (5.6 rating) and was coached and developed into a great RB. I believe Izzy could have remained at Pitt and played an additional 2 years before going into the NFL Draft.

Every player makes a decision which they believe is in their best interest and I respect their decision.

For example, Kenny Pickett (Rival 3-star) chose to remain at Pitt for his 5th year of eligibility to increase his NFL prospects and was selected in the NFL 1st round (KP opted to not play for Pitt in the Peach Bowl against Michigan State.

Well our back up QB Nick Patti will starting for Pitt as he did last year in the Peach Bowl as well as our backup RB's.

Next man up.

SUN BOWL 2:00 PM CBS

HAIL TO PITT!!!!
