Basketball Mawot Mag will enter the transfer portal

Mag was a key cog in the machine in 2022-23 - a crucial element on a team that was long on chemistry, but short on depth. That team had a lot of flexibility and stifling defense, but virtually no bench. Losing a starter was a death knell. The 2023-24 team was a patchwork of parts that didn't...

Is this still a Football Forum ?

The board had zero moderation. It had been a dumpster fire since I joined, and I wouldn't post there because I didn't want my name associated with any of it. Happy it was paywalled, but jettisoned into the sun wasn't an option. I did lurk for a short time to farm names for my ignore list...

It will definitely be different, but do you count our past JUCO guys as graduates? If a guy starts somewhere else, then comes to us for his last 2 to 3 years, why wouldn't I consider him a graduate? But we'll definitely start seeing ing more guys who come for a year and then leave again...

Is this still a Football Forum ?

This board is the de facto OT board, because the actual OT board is a cesspool that is now paywalled (quarantined?).

Women's NCAA championship TV ratings crush the men's competition

It's in the contract that it alternates between CBS/Turner, because Turner kicked in a lot of money.

Women's NCAA championship TV ratings crush the men's competition

I like the game, but the officiating kills it for me. Men's officiating can be bad, but women's officiating is frequently awful and rarely decent. There are so many blown calls that any close game almost comes down to a coin flip of which team got the shorter end of the stick.

Women's NCAA championship TV ratings crush the men's competition

Depends on who's leaving money. The NCAA is making a lot of money off of the big contract with CBS and Turner. Turner paid a lot for the rights to get the final four every other year, and I'm sure are able to parlay that into higher cable carriage fees nationally.

    Cliff and NIL

He can get paid outside the country. If the team he goes to has a European trip, a game in Canada, or a holiday tournament in the Bahamas, or whatever, he can get NIL there.

NCAA FINAL FOUR: Championship Game Thread

Not saying it isn't short sighted, but if the decision is between revenue and viewership, they're going revenue nearly every time. The NCAA opted out of their deal with CBS alone to go with a different (and more lucrative) contact shared between CBS and TBS, where TBS has gotten the final four...

NCAA FINAL FOUR: Championship Game Thread

If a streaming service decided to drop big bank on a multi-year deal for the tournament, outspending any of the network or cable services, you don't think they would jump at that?

NCAA FINAL FOUR: Championship Game Thread

At the end of the day, they don't care about viewership, only money. If they got more money from CBS, it would be on CBS. If they got more money by starting the game earlier on the East Coast, they would do that. If they knew they could do something next year that would triple their revenue...
