Anyone making the trip to see RU at USC in October?

Just checked their website. They were willing to take a reservation for March 20th.

Recently had dinner at 2 Italian restaurants that were very good. Barrique and Scopa. If you want a steak place, Charcoal is very good.

The Viceroy used to have a great night time bar scene. That was a decade ago so I don't know if it still does.

That is just the actual "beach" you are looking at. Venice Beach is actually a very popular neighborhood in LA off the beach, especially for young people. It is home for many good restaurants, including two Italian restaurants I have visited in the last month.

OT: The official ACC all things thread

Why is no one talking about venue? Aren't there competing law suits in NC and FL? Doesn't this issue need to be resolved? Won't the resolution have an effect on how things proceed?

It is still going to court until it is not. A fight over venue is likely first.

An important note for anyone staying at the Marriott Courtyard Santa Monica. I learned this the hard way. The parking entrance is not at the front of the hotel (Colorado) and is not well marked. It is on 5th street on the side of the hotel. FYI

Personally, I am rooting for it to go to court. There will likely be no winners there, and it will be a great show.

Possible swap? WVU and Cinci to ACC and Stanford, Cal to B12? Probably not. Makes too much sense.

    OT: Italy travel recommendations

Prior to Covid and my health problems I visited Italy 2 to 3 times a year. All to Piemonte. I note that Piemonte is not mentioned once in this thread, probably because it has no art or churches worth seeing. However, if you are seriously into wine or northern Italian food, and are not fond of...

    OT: Somerville homicide

One of my college jobs was bartending at Orlando's restaurant in Somerville. A great Italian restaurant and the owner, Tont Orlando,, was a legend. Have a terrific story that happened while working there, but won't bore you with it now. Anyone know what happened to that place?

OT: Applications for Rutgers NB have increased almost 40% for Fall 2024

My daughter grew up in NJ and went to RU games constantly as we were season ticket holders in football and basketball. She actually started going to RU games "very early". My wife's OB/GYN sat four rows behind us so we never had to worry. We moved to Cali between her soph and jr years. When...

OT: Applications for Rutgers NB have increased almost 40% for Fall 2024

Found the mention about college costs interesting. A couple of people referenced the UCLA cost as 200 - 225 thousand. When my daughter attended UCLA 1995 - 1999, I paid the whole cost, except for some out of pocket money she earned from part time jobs. My total cost was 67K. more than 3...

Life isn't fair. The fan bases at PSU, Michigan, OSU etc. say you are wrong.

Ticket prices the same for football, but required donation for the lots is up

Assuming the improvement in football performance continues, as I believe it will, this just one of the signs that we will see a gradual turnover in fans. Lots of new fans, some with a lot of money, like other schools, and some current fans downgraded as a result. It isn't "fair" but what is...
