    I’m not sure what he will average here. But, his scoring is probably linked to how many open looks he gets from 3. I think he will get more open looks here with guys like Harper, Bailey, and JWill on the team.

    Oskar was the better player last year. But, the rationale of giving GG more minutes was to develop him for the future because his ceiling was much higher. At this point, it obviously doesn’t matter. And I agree, GG may or may not pan out at another school.

    He has size and can shoot. He is a definite take for a school like RU that needs more shooting. You also have to factor in his experience including being on a team that went to the Sweet 16.

    I like this addition. Acuff can score. With less minutes and a lower usage rate, he should have better shooting % numbers like he did two years ago. I hope the staff can get the Princeton duo and a quality big after this.

    GG to portal?

    I hope he stays. I like his potential. But with NIL, this is a time where a large number of players transfer out. It is essentially free agency every year. Nothing should be surprising. Nowadays, it seems like recruiting in the portal is more important than recruiting HS players.

    Other teams are not dumb. They will force you to shoot the ball if that is a weakness for your team. A lack of shooting will also clog up the driving lanes and ability to establish post position. Shooting is essential for spacing and floor balance.

    Can’t believe I’m saying this…but Fernandes needs to take Simpson’s minutes

    Mag is shooting 40.3% (48/119) from the floor in B1G play. Simpson is shooting 31.2% (49/157) in B1G play. You can’t really compare the numbers. This is not even factoring in that Mag is coming off a major injury.

    The issue with Simpson is that he shooting 31.6% from the floor 28.8% from 3. It’s difficult to start him alongside JW and JD. Both JW and JD are shooting better from the floor and none of them are consistent threats from 3. This is a big reason why the offense has really struggled at times...

    He can shoot the ball and score. He did that at UMass. Watching him play like tonight or how he did against Wisconsin makes those earlier performances where he scored 0 or 1 pt hard to believe.

    Gavin Going Forward

    Shot selection is key for him. I feel like he has forced some contested shots which are low percentage for even good shooters. I also think he needs to take advantage of his height for easy shots against smaller defenders.
