Playing 2 new teams this year

We had a home & home scheduled with UCLA in 2010s during the Ash era, but it got cancelled.

OT: John Sterling, NYY Play by Play retires

You are likely right about the nickname, but I'm sure he called NJ Nets games on the radio.

OT: John Sterling, NYY Play by Play retires

I remember when he did the NJ Nets games at the RAC. Wasn't he called (or called himself) Super John Sterling? Also remember he wore a letter S pendant on a gold necklace back in those days.

OT: Fictional Characters Whose Death You Appreciated

Sopranos: Vin "I've got three bills on Rutgers" Zarkazian (John Heard). He jumped off the Morris Goodkind Bridge, so that might be the most local TV/Movie character death. Breaking Bad: Jane Margolis. Made me appreciate how much we rely on air traffic controllers to keep it all together...

OT: Proposal for 80 school football Super League

Given the state of the Premier League these days, that is the last model I'd want to emulate right now. Does a team lose points for recruiting/NIL violations and get knocked into the relegation zone? Or do these non Power 5 teams always have to worry about promotion/relegation?

    OT: Just had an earthquake

Tin foil hatters can also choose from: A) aftershocks from the Chinese underground lab leak that caused the Taiwan quake; B) DEI programs; c) the Phillies revelaing their new blue/gold City Connect uniforms this morning.

Felt it in my part of Chesco too.

I liked his Czech border guard in Stripes.

He's not called MARC Train Joe, so nope, never.

OT: I-695 Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapses

Not sure if they were on that tape, but the Maryland Transportation Authority, which operates the Key Bridge, the tunnels and the Bay Bridge, also has it's own police force. Amy Ryan also played an MTA officer in Season 2 of The Wire.

OT: I-695 Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapses

Always fun when there's a high wind warning on that bridge.

OT: I-695 Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapses

Crossed that bridge many times. Very imposing when you approach it from the outer loop/Dundalk side, they do offer bridge driver escorts for those too scared to drive it. It's a mini Bay Bridge (also very fear inducing). I never feared collapse of that bridge or a ship hitting it, though I...

After visiting Austin last month, I wish Texas was in the B1G. What a town.

    OT: Italy travel recommendations

Most of the crime tips by Rick Steves and other world travel experts are about pickpockets and tourist scams and staying away from the skectchy areas that most tourists don't go near anyway. We don't have much of a pickpocketing problem in the US and those Americans new to world travel may not...

On unintentionally funny sight is several Carabinieri police officers crammed into a small patrol car. Highly recommend any travel video on Italy by Mark Wolters.

I was in Milan last year for a brief trip. I would go back again. The Duomo is the big tourist attraction and they get the Winter Olympics in 2026, but there was no Olympics swag that I could find (Got Paris 2024 stuff when I was there in 2022). One big tip is bring Euros. Italy is more into...

OT: Chip Kelly resigned from UCLA and is expected to be named the new OC at Ohio State.

Chip Kelly, who was the UNH OC when UNH beat RU in 2004 in our stadium passes up the opportunity to do it again next year as UCLA HC by becoming OSU OC and putting off that opportunity until 2027 if he gets extended or lasts that long.

Chris Ash Reflects on His Time at Rutgers

Just a reminder that the coaches between Schiano 1.0 and 2.0, Ash and Flood, have last names that are attributed to disaster (disASHter) and destruction. If Ash could've recruited a good O line and got good O line coaching, Pacheco probably would've been a Heisman candidate
