JWill Shoots Free Throws Like a Pro

JWill is just so confident. It’s really remarkable how he missed 709 days on court and emerges as a team leader playing with confidence and swagger like he’s never missed a beat. He’s not tentative or plays just to fit in, he has taken a position of leader sharing the ball and making his...

The enigma that is Derek Simpson

Derek has some many good qualities, will be an important piece in next year’s rotation. I think he just needs to understand the level of practice needed to improve his shooting. As he gets better, confidence will go up.

    Mag

Mag is a vital cog for next year, no doubt. He is a complimentary player and shouldn’t be expected to lead team in scoring. His experience and rebounding will be crucial next year. We need to see some JWill/Ogbole who could be a big part of next year’s roster. We have outstanding frosh class...

    2-0 with Mag Back

He may be my fav player, just love his energy and defense. Also, hoping like last year, he develops as the season moves along and is that indispensable teammate. He will be a vital piece for next year being an experienced leader, defender and rebounder esp with all the frosh coming. We hear a...

Jeremiah Williams May Be Eligible Soon: Decision Wednesday 10am

I know kid made a mistake with the gambling matter (thinking a lot under 21 kids do gamble) but isn’t it about time the punishment ends. Kid transfers from Temple to Iowa St but doesn’t play at ALL due to injury and now judges’ decision cancels out the two transfer rule. Perhaps, we can get some...

    Pikiell Postgame

Hoping coach was “ornery” in that locker room. What is so puzzling is Pike’s evaluation of his team. This is clearly not an 80 point team. The rebounding is terrible and how can you up the pace if you can’t rebound. Coach thinks this team is good?? Last nights game: Wake 29-11 RU 37-21 Wake...

Let’s get off the ledge …and focus on this week

Our team philosophy last year (led by Caleb) was we don’t score they don’t score! This team needs to adopt that philosophy and embrace it. Our only chance to succeed is defense and rebounding and we cant increase the pace on offense if we don’t rebound. We are better off in transition getting FB...

    Baye Ndongo

Baye Ndongo (remember him?) RU commit who uncommitted and followed asst coach Karl Hobbs to Georgia Tech, well, caught a glimpse of Ga Tech/Duke game and he was dynamite finishing at the rim torching Duke for 21 points leading his team to the upset win! A huge paint presence that we could of...

Breitman Breaks Down Noah Fernandes’ Game

Noah is not real athletic but is shifty and crafty, love the hesitation move to basket. Just want him to show the leadership to run the point and finding Cliff in open space. Was happy to see some swagger in him, got to like that feistiness on defense. He may be the most important part to run an...

    Richard vs Brandin Knight

I just don’t get the Richard tweet. It’s over 3 months until the Princeton game and anyone claiming Mag “should”be ready to play in that game is way off base. I would think neither drs/trainers have any idea at this point. Knight’s response indicates that Richard has some credibility on RUBB...

    Quinerly in portal

Absolutely correct, I would take a hard pass!

    Ithiel Horton in the portal

I would be careful here, have to be real smart who we pick in terms of team fit, chemistry. Pike would need to weigh if kid who plays 30+ min, takes plenty of shots, three point% good, 2pt % not so good vs how it impacts team, others guys minutes and does he pout if he doesn’t get enough...

    Does anyone think dylan already...

In the “old” college bb world (before NIL) , I would be sooo pumped but in reality we have 17 months before Nov ‘24 to see who is actually wearing the RU laundry. So, all the chatter and optimism is just “all talk” considering 17 months is a long way to go and only one big time donation away...

Basketball BREAKING -- Rutgers senior guard Paul Mulcahy plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced:

Pike said in the podcast with Recco that college BB has changed and you can’t relyon kids staying 2,3,4 years because of NIL. He also said he’s dealt with obstacles since he took the job, facilities, attendance and housing. This is another obstacle, a huge one that at the moment the optics...

Basketball BREAKING -- Rutgers senior guard Paul Mulcahy plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced:

NIL started and loyalty is gone forever. All the so called insider info means zilch but I will root for whichever players is wearing the RU laundry come the first week of Nov. knowing those players may only be here for this year only. As far as Ace and 2024, it’s a long way off and you can’t...

    Portal Targets

My concern is securing adequate depth pieces. The bench came up short last year and the current roster needs help as injuries will likely occur. Hopefully, Pike finds some infusion of talent even though we may be late with finding the right portal pieces.

What’s next for Rutgers basketball after Cam Spencer’s stunning transfer?

If Cliff/Paul return, the Cam exodus hurts a lot less. Also, we may see major improvement from Chol, Wolf and Simpson and Gavin/JMike may be more ready to step in and play significant minutes. We cringed when EO left, but we moved on and did well. I expect whatever roster we have come Nov will...

    Ace

It just seems like Davis is on mission, putting in the work to get better. His delay with LOI to play AAU comp may have been blessed by our coaches. Looking forward to the Ace/JMike combo running the break!

Paul M just posted this on his Instagram in a collage of 10 photos during his time with Rutgers tweeted by Josh Meyers (Targum sports editor)

I would hope Paul returns, his solid play, experience and leadership would only be a major asset for this team. Experience is sooo important. If he so happened to be in portal, he would be a type of player we would be looking to land.
