    OT: OJ Died

I read somewhere that Roger Staubach is one of the richest football players ever. He is a real estate tycoon and worth about $600 Million.

Thank you. I work down the street from Double Zero so I will definitely check out the pizza.

    Congrats Seton Hall -NIT CHAMPS

You are full of crap. I've been posting on this Board for years, and I recall how excited your fans were to be in the NIT Finals against Michigan. I don't recall any posts downplaying the importance of the NIT back then. Talk about hypocrisy.

    Congrats Seton Hall -NIT CHAMPS

I am also a Rutgers Grad. I was there when RU Football shocked Tennesse after their fans questioned "what is a Rutgers?" I recall reading a very well written article in the Daily Targum where the gist of the article answered their question as the Team that just beat the University of Tennessee.

    Congrats Seton Hall -NIT CHAMPS

As a long-time SHU fan, it was a very enjoyable run and feel good story. I couldn't be happier with our Coach who can push players beyond their potential. A definition of a winner is someone who can face adversity and ultimately use it to his advantage. We were snubbed but ended up showing...

OT: Fictional Characters Whose Death You Appreciated

I absolutely agree! The original Road House is pure gold. The reviews I linked relate only to the 1989 movie, not the recent remake.

    OT: Basement Gym

How much do you weigh? I would think that most seniors cannot do a meaningful amount of pullups. When I was your age I could do 200 lb lat pulldowns in the gym. I could not, however, do more than one pullup. I weighed about 205 lbs at that time. (Still do.)

I wasn't replying to your post. Our posts "crossed in the mail". I was giving the OP general advice.

    OT: Basement Gym

I wouldn't rush to purchase expensive equipment on a home gym given your circumstances. There are so many people who purchased expensive machines that ultimately became a place to hang clothes from. Instead, I would lean towards purchasing an adjustable dumbbell set and bench. I would also...

    OT: Beach Erosion

Yet, vulnerable beaches are restored again and again with federal tax payor monies which disproportionately benefit wealthy owners of shore property lots. Sand dredging restoration also adversely impacts the environment killing wildlife scooped up in the sand which in turn hurts birds and fish...

    OT: Retiring early

I'm in my late 60s and I am a partner in my small law firm along with my brother, who is a year younger than me. Our plan is to not retire in the next 5 years or so, but to instead down size our law practice by concentrating our practice on wills, trusts, and transactional law, which we still...

OT: 2024 NJ HS Football Season…

As a side note, I was coaching Wayne Juniors baseball in the late 70s. Tommy was signed up for my Team but he decided he was not going to play Juniors that year.

I remember Mr. Van Dyken. He retired shortly after I became a freshman at Valley. My first principal was also Mr. Van Dyken. Small world.

SHUSource, I bet you and your DePaul buddies frequented the nearby Roy Rogers, of my favorite places back in the day. I think it eventually became The Sandwich Pub, which was a pretty decent bar.

OT: 2024 NJ HS Football Season…

The Catholic schools really helped kill the history and tradition of highschool football in New Jersey by their recruiting arms race. I first noticed that in my home town in Wayne in the early 80s when the better players in Wayne started to enroll in DePaul Highshool instead of attending Wayne...

Average career of NFL RB is 2.6 years

Hannah was one of the best ever. Actually, my friend made to one of the last cuts. Problem was my friend was undersized and had to load up on steroids to maintain weight, but it wasn't sustainable. Interesting side story though. My friend's father fought as a marine in the battle of Chosin...
