    So the ref who was staring directly at the play “assumed” the ball was deflected? I was watching on tv and could see the ball went off his foot. Terrible job by the refs not to know the rules of the game they are getting paid to know.

    It was an “inadvertent whistle” by a ref who anticipated the St Johns player stepping out of bounds. The clock story was damage control. It did start a little late but I’ve seen that happen lots of times.

    When you say a program is trending up generally you have wins, post season play to use as proof. Until that happens the casual fan will continue to be stumped.

    Jay Wright has underachieved so badly he made the HOF ballot this year. The ncaa tournament is a crap shoot and frequently teams get upset. History remembers championships. He has won without the benefit of one and done players as well.

    What can be taken from the box score is the Ponds/Heron duo had a very quiet game and The Johnnies still put up 79pts. To underestimate them would be a mistake, imo.
