Flew out to that game.
Remember an old WSU fan giving me crap about my Rutgers Jersey in the Century Field Stadium garage before the game. He said “you came a long way to see an a## whopping”. That first play from Scrimmage shut the crowd up. Nova bomb to Carroo. Priceless. A whooping took place !!!

That was a tough loss.

And never forget the biggest scandal in Presidential history happened the same day: Obama wore a tan suit. lol.
Oops, saw WSU and immediately thought the thread was about the game we lost to them 37-34 at home the next year. RUPTSD lol.
I was there! That was an entertaining game! When Nova was good (i.e., Arkansas wins) he was really good. When he was bad (i.e., Penn State, Virginia Tech) he was absolutely putrid.
That was a nice win! Started at 1030 pm !
Washington state fumbled a punt that helped us big time.
We really got some breaks that year to get to 7-5 in the regular season
Washington state fumbling, the call reversal incomplete in the Michigan game, navy receiver landing out of bounds and we won a toss up at Maryland. The only swing game that didn’t go our way was Penn state- and we should have.
It was a fun season
