Currently MIke Williams has 920 career points and Corey Sanders has 900 career points.

They should both get to the 1,000 point mark at some point in this calendar year and there is actually a very reasonable possibility it will happen in the same game. Wouldn't that be special?

Anyway, just a fun thing I thought about today.

That would actually be very cool and rare to boot.

I have been looking for the school records on the website. It seems the all time lists are nowhere to be found. Search option pulled up nada. Any guidance?

Used to be a Record Book section on the site but I can't find it now either. I did their points totals by hand.

Update on our 1000 point approachers:
Sanders- 918
Williams- 930

..hehe definitely old school..no one does anything by hand any more...

Some other milestones to watch -

Williams also has:
- 120 made three pointers - if he can get to 154, he'll be tied with Rosario for 10th all time at RU. If he finishes with the same 43 he had last year, he'd have 160, which would put him at 9th ahead of Todd Billet.
- 410 attempted three pointers, placing him tied with Marquis Webb for 9th all time right now. If he finishes with the same 135 attempts he had last year, he'd finish with 528 and 6th all time ahead of Rosario and just behind Greer with 555.
- 90 steals - if he finishes with the same 30 he had last year, that'll bring him to 114, good for 19th all time. If he gets to 117, he'd be tied for 16th all time with Webb, Worthy, and Billet.

Sanders also has:
- 240 assists. If he finishes with the same 107 as last year, it'll put him at 329, good for 8th all time.
- 98 steals - if he finishes with the same 44 he had last year, that'll bring him to 136, good for 10th all time.

What about Baker!

Update:
Sanders at 997
Williams at 979

Would have been awesome if they both could have reached 1000 in the same game, and at home to boot, vs Seton Hall to boot even more!

Has to be VERY rare for 2 guys to do it in the same game.

Looking at the other milestones...

Williams also has:
- 125 made three pointers - Needs 29 more to get into the Top 10 (154 will tie Rosario)
- 432 attempted three pointers, moving him to 8th all time. 37 more will tie Donnell Lumpkin for 7th.
- 98 steals - needs 13 more to tie for 19th with Jerome Coleman and Mike Dabney (but Sanders is also ahead of him)

Sanders also has:
- 266 assists. This moves him to 20th all time ahead of Mike Sherrod, needs 5 more to tie Mark Conlin for 19th.
- 110 steals - needs 1 more to tie for 19th with Jerome Coleman and Mike Dabney, and 8 more to tie Webb/Worthy/Billet for 16th.

Are the career leaders posted and updated somewhere online? If not, they should be. Always found that stuff interesting.

Hopefully 14 games left this year and 33-35 next year

47 games x 15 ppg ...another 700 points

1800 career points get him in some elite company in RU hoops history ...especially if he somehow leads us to the NCAA his senior gear

Sanders continuing to move up career lists...
- 1140 pts - moving him to a tie for 27th all time with Don Parsons, needs 6 more to tie Steve Kaplan for 26th and 14 to tie Bob Greacen and move into the Top 25.
- 293 assists - moving him to a tie for 15th all time with Phil Sellers, needs 3 more to tie Rich Dadika for 14th.
- 121 steals - moving him to 13th all time ahead of Hollis Copeland, needs 2 more to tie Craig Carter for 12th.
- 1084 FG attempts - still 19th all time, needs 9 more to tie Larry Gordon for 18th.

Also of interest... Deshawn Freeman right now has 441 rebounds over 61 career games, for a 7.23 rb/g career average. He has a shot at finishing in the Top 20 all time.

17. Doug Clark (1964-67) 7.25
18. Abdel Anderson (1975-79) 7.24
19. Roy Hinson (1979-83) 7.23
20. Doug Brittelle (1966-69) 7.22

He also has at least 12 more games (depending on whether we win our first B1G tourney matchup) to get 12 blocks to tie Byron Joynes for 20th all time (and is averaging 1.0/g this year, but just 0.6/g in conference).

Not a lot of movement after the Michigan game for Sanders, but could move up in all categories after Wednesday's game vs. Nebraska:

- 1154 pts - moving him to 26th all time, needs 2 to tie Bob Greacen and move into the Top 25.
- 293 assists - still 15th all time with Phil Sellers, needs 3 more to tie Rich Dadika for 14th.
- 122 steals - still 13th all time, needs 1 more to tie Craig Carter for 12th.
- 1094 FG attempts - moving him to 18th all time, needs 2 more to tie John Battle for 17th.

Freeman moved to 7.29 rb/g career average, good for 17th right now.

Update after a tough loss...

Corey now has:
- 1166 pts - moving him to a tie for 24th all time with Tom Savage, needs 11 to tie Jamal Phillips and move into 23rd.
- 295 assists - still 15th all time with Phil Sellers, needs 1 more to tie Rich Dadika for 14th.
- 123 steals - moving him to a tie for 12th all time with Craig Carter, needs 6 more to tie Dane Miller for 11th.
- 1111 FG attempts - moving him to 17th all time, needs 19 more to tie Eric Riggins for 16th

Freeman moved to a 7.33 rb/g career average, still good for 17th right now. Ahead of him in 16th is Bob Greacen with 7.40

Hesitated to even update this this week, given the afternoon Corey had yesterday. He did manage to move up in assists, though.

Corey now has:
- 1166 pts - still tied for 24th all time with Tom Savage, still needs 11 to tie Jamal Phillips and move into 23rd.
- 298 assists - moving him to 14th all time, needs 7 more to tie Marquis Webb for 13th
- 124 steals - now alone at 12th all time, needs 5 more to tie Dane Miller for 11th.
- 1118 FG attempts - still 17th all time, needs 12 more to tie Eric Riggins for 16th

Freeman moved to a 7.34 rb/g career average, still good for 17th right now. Ahead of him in 16th is Bob Greacen with 7.40

These are great posts. Statistically, you really can't deny how good Corey has been in less than three seasons. It is a shame that he can't seem to get to a reasonable number in FG%. Freeman is pretty damned impressive also, playing in the Big Ten. I think he will be missed much more than most fans realize.

Points among players who played fewer than 4 seasons:
2045 pts - Bob Lloyd
1690 pts - Quincy Douby
1257 pts - Keith Hughes (in just 2 seasons)
1213 pts - Larry Gordon
1180 pts - Doug Patton
1166 pts - Corey Sanders
1154 pts - Doug Greacen
1146 pts - Steve Kaplan
1122 pts - Jim Valvano
1116 pts - Tom Savage (1116 in 3 seasons, just 50 pts in 6 games his 4th season)
1109 pts - John Somogyi (in just 2 seasons)

Everyone ahead of Corey on the assists and steals lists played more than 3 seasons.
