Who would have decided on this, the B1G
Seems like a recipe for a very, very low headcount. I guess the assumption is that most people who would normally attend the game are not working that day.
I will not be at the game due to work, same for 2 friends who are also season ticket holders. Disappointed.

Unfortunately, if you are going to schedule a game on that day, then afternoon is the realistic option.

Certainly, more folks will be off work than would typically be. From the grand cosmic viewpoint, kids are not in school and a great potential audience. A later game would suffer attendance as folks begin their evening party schedule or, conversely, don't want to be on the roads.

Now, the wisdom of scheduling a game on the 31st at all . . .

Oklahoma vs Clemson , College Football Championships start at 4pm. Being on New Years Eve will hurt those games TV ratings, but probably not fan turnout.

Hey, it's a university. No one bothered to think that others don't operate on an academic calendar. Those of us who work for RU have the week off. Lucky for me, since that OU football game is the most important event of the week (year?) in my house. It fits together perfectly.

So it was such a forgettable time for the game that, even though I checked it this morning, I forgot to even turn on the game tracker while I was at work (and I certainly could have done that).

Official attendance 2,057, probably more than I would have guessed.

No way that high, I was at the game 650 the most.

People also need to realize that Rutgers has no say in the game's start time. That is solely determined by the Big Ten.
