So ... the game started as poorly for RU as could be, and Miami could not have drawn up a better start:
1) Miami hits its 1st 3 3-point FG ... RU is 0-fer on 3-point attempts (missed 3-4 in the 1st 8-10 minutes of the game)
2) RU misses 3 of 4 lay-ups, and Miami (to their credit) blocks another 2-3 lay-up attempts.
3) Miami uses dribble penetration, and draws fouls - and hits its 1st 8 FT.
4) Miami does a great job and prevents RU from getting any offensive rebounds in the 1st 8-10 minutes of the game.
5) Gettys draws 2 relatively quick fouls against the quicker Miami players.\
But then, RU odwn 25-10, Pikiell calls time out, and RU claws it way back into the game, drawing to 31-28 (within 3 points) before ending the half down 6.
And RU did it with:
1) Relentless attacking of the rim on offense.
2) Pressure defense that kept Miami continuing to turn the ball over.
3) Beginning to get offensive rebounds (perhaps 6 in the last 8-10 minutes of the 1st half): Doorson getting 2 baskets off offensive rebounds, Sa and Laurent also being active.
4) RU blocking some Miami FG attempts, and closing better on 3-point attempts.
