6-6 is the floor next year with normal QB play and a normal DC.....folks are ridiculous with the commentary at this point as if we were Ohio State rolling at 10-2 every year and the program suffered some unrepairable harm. The schedule is extremely manageable next year, Penn State is declining rapidly, MD has a new coach and Indiana, New Mexico and whatever 1AA comes in after we go to Washington. The schedule starts with 5 wins minimum.
I didn't realize Illinois coming in was a unwinnable game either, let me run and hide now.....LOL....Whomever comes in with reasonable offensive upgrades and a game plan and doesn't give up 600 yards of total offense per game, wins a minimum of 6 games next year.
Games RU cannot win next year are at Ohio State, at Michigan State and everything else is up for grabs. Iowa loses a ton of players and Michigan as mentioned, is severely overrated but improved by default under Harbaugh, who was just run off the field by 30 against Ohio State in their own building.....when that happened at RU, RU is not competitive and terrible and that was with Rossi as a DC.
Let's be realistic, Flood and Rossi/Cohen were not D1 caliber coaches or coordinators and 3 of the last 4 years, RU's defense was so bad scheme wise, there is no way to determine our talent base on that side of the ball....and RU's QB play outside of Fridge's year here was so Pop Warner-esque, that it never developed or improved from September through November with Laviano at QB. That said, any other QB can improve 10PPG with our running backs and OLine. Our frosh WR's are going to be very good as well.
