What I think is terrible is that some of the PAC 12 teams backed out because they particularly didn't want to play against Army's wishbone saying they don't have time to prepare. In my eyes that equates to "we're afraid we'll lose." I love what Monken said, "If we got a Dec. 31 bowl game, if you call us on the 29th, we'll have those guys flying there on the 30th,"
Another Monken quote: "The bottom line is there were enough people who kept saying, 'No, we don't want to play Army, we don't want to play Army,'" Monken said. "And I'm sure they don't want to have one week to get ready for the option [offense] or whatever, but our players, we've got guys on our team that wouldn't be invited as walk-ons to the teams we're getting ready to play. We've got guys from California, they didn't have a Pac-12 walk-on offer, and they are starting for us."

Do you wake up every morning, piss in a bowl of Cheerios and say -this is for you Warren? Really. Do what you want, but please don't try to compare the best military academy football program to a 14 team football conference spanning a big chunk of the country, with teams in cities and 10's of thousands of students and faculty and managing the various constituencies in a pandemic. It sounds really silly.

Army planned to have their bowl game cancelled??. Then have Tennessee get Covid suddenly?? Opening the door for Army to take that spot?? Wow that is great planning 🙄
I know every year people complain about there being too many obscure bowls and I knew that would still be the case this year (even more so given the circumstances), but I still enjoy watching the games and having them on at odd times when I get home from work. I'm glad that some are still being played this year.
The Boca Raton Bowl is actually a solid matchup. There's a "sellout" crowd (maximum was 6,000 fans and it quickly sold out) with UCF in town.

Nevada (OC is Matt Mumme, son of Hal Mumme- the inventor of the Air Raid Offense) is beating down Tulane 26-7 with 4:50 to go in first half.
Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa bites the dust. South Carolina (2-8) had to withdraw with COVID concerns. UAB (6-3) on the outside now.
Nevada beat Tulane 38-27.
Boca Raton Bowl in Progress. BYU up 21-7 on UCF at 10:11 to go in 2nd.

BYU was about 5 yards from putting up another 7 but they decided to kneel it out instead. Not a fan of the Fighting Latter-Day Saints keeping their starters in all game.

Hawaii is a fun team. They used to do a haka in pregame but NZ got mad. Lots of academy coaches came from Hawaii and Paul Johnson
