FB Recruiting 2024 Michigan ATH Gabriel Winowich commits to Rutgers Football

Has he actually visited or not?
It's a little confusing in the article.

Winowich didn't know a whole lot about Rutgers before the visit, but has a relative that is pretty close by that told him some things about New Jersey.

“I honestly don’t know much about the university itself,” said Winowich. “However my brother went to a prep school (Lawrenceville Prep) only about 20 minutes away. He could not stop talking about how beautiful it is there, so that was very exciting to hear. I haven’t ever been there, but I am super excited to go and visit. Hopefully I can catch a game next year too.”

Already 6’1”. And 220 lbs. could be that 230+lb bull dozer we’ve been asking for.

Michigan? Is his mom friends with Gio’s mom

Nice! And if we get a nice recruiting bump from today, Greg owes Pike a serious thank you, as that was an incredible atmosphere for all those recruits to see and I'm sure it helps Greg make the case to them that Rutgers can beat blue bloods like OSU, even in football, eventually, if we can get enough talent here.

I know where he is going if he needs a PG year. But DCD should have him well prepared

The RAC is a recruiters wet dream... that atmosphere is electric and most kids leaning RU really help push them across (i hope). Winning is contagious !!

His brother must be a pretty quick study. He wasn't at Lawrenceville long enough to unpack his suitcase, let alone learn the lay of the land!

I hope the RU bb fans only can see that the RAC can be a niced added, football recruiting tool..... it probably helped a bit yesterday...... we can still squeeze the students in for the bb games....

This looks like a nice pickup. He's not only big and fast, but is also very shifty when he hits the line and linebackers. Welcome to the Banks! I hope this commitment sticks when other suitors come calling.

I can tell you football sucking has been an issue for other sports recruiting. Hopefully we get good enough where that isn’t a problem.

He's going to be disappointed when he sees New Brunswick.

You guys really think a basketball game atmosphere has any impact on football recruiting? I don’t.

They do it to bring recruits together at the events, hopefully to forge new relationships among the them. Atmosphere doesn’t play into it.

We’ve been doing this for how many decades ? Recruiting success has not related to basketball atmosphere at all.

Recruits only care about their football futures.

No impact? I disagree. Important factor? No.

Ok, can we agree on 'minimal impact' ? If there was meaningful impact we'd see better commits. I also think the narcissist in Schiano wants the recruits to see the crowd cheering for him.

No one is committing to the football team because of the RAC atmosphere. No one.
