30 roster cap. Anyone know when that number has to be met? Is it 7/1 (start of new academic/fiscal year), 1st day of Fall classes, or 1st day of season or 1st competition?

As of the end of the 2024-25 season, our roster was at 37. Currently, 12 leaving, with 8 incoming, gets us to 33, so at least 3 more need to go. Who else is leaving, and any other transfers in? 2025-26 roster probably won't be out until late May or mid/late June.

12 Leaving: Peterson (tx to Iowa), Wehner?, Soldano (tx to OU), Gayer (tx to Cal Poly), Poz (graduated), Turley (graduated), Yara (graduated), Fongaro (tx to App St), Dylan Weaver (graduated), M. Toranzo (graduated), O’Donnell (graduated), and DeSantis (graduated).

8 incoming: (i) 5 HS recruits: Billy Townson 125, Tahir Parkins 141, Easton Doster 149, Devon Magro 157, and Jordan Chapman 174, and (ii) 3 transfers in: Lenny Pinto 174, Remy Cotton 197, and Hunter Catka 285.

Lineup:

125: Smith/Gibson, Townson
133: Shawver, Gibson/Chletsos
141: Olivieri, Hermes/Parkins
149: Clark/A.Nini, Cetta/Doster/Villani/S.Nini
157: Harer/Condomitti, Magro/DiStefeno
165: Barbosa/White, Blanchette/Ford
174: Pinto, Chapman/Freeman/O'Neill/Da.Weaver
184: SCW
197: Cotton, Casale/Packer
285: Catka, B.Toranzo

I don’t believe it’s going to be a hard roster cap immediately, the talk is of grandfathering in guys currently on the roster and doing gradual drop down to the hard cap of 30 over 3 yrs or so

Thanks, missed that a few days ago. Will be interesting to see what they agree to and how they calculate roster numbers.

Yea I saw this last night wondered how the hell he gets 7 years ,I didn’t think he was hurt that much in his time at Rutgers

makes zero sense
Giving the 2021 class a free year while the 2020 class couldn’t compete in a postseason made no sense back then and has proven each year to be a ridiculous decision

Doesn’t make sense but at least the COVID era is done with now..

Let’s not forget O’Neil was technically a past ncaa qualifier.. so if he can and wants to wrestle two more years then more power to him. Wish Conner the best, respects to anyone that wants to keep going in wrestling.
