This is what we would have been going i to today if Gio started from day 1.

Also the OSU and UM games wouldnt have been the embarassments they were

Its crazy how much the one position affects the flow and outcome of the game on both sides of the ball

Truth

Do you think Gio is looking good because he has been allliwed to develop? Do you think playing when ready helps? The kid started in his senior year at QB. Give the coaches some credit.

You can't assume anything. But this season would have been a helluva lot more fun to watch if gio had played from day one. I'm amazed that the coaches could not identify what they had any sooner than this.

Won't go that far, but I can say with confidence we wouldn't be the laughingstock of college football. That's mostly on Laviano and the coaches' indefensible insistence on playing him since about halftime of OSU.

We would have definitely beaten Iowa, no way Gio goes three trips to the end zone empty handed

I think this team had a chance at 6-6 year if Gio started from UW on
How do you know that for sure? Maybe Gio would have had an off day and thrown two or three picks.

4-3 is what we COULD be for a # of reasons, but we aren't, HOWEVER....I still think we get beat down, beyond all belief, by Michigan and OSU. Michigan up 28-0 on Illinois with 10 to go. In the 1st half.

Doesn't anyone remember how mediocre Gio looked in the spring. I think the staff deserves some credit for developing the kid and perhaps her wasn't really ready until last week. I also give the staff credit for making the move at all. There are some coaches - cough cough - who would refuse to do that at all

We played Iowa and Minnesota tough without our best offensive player in Grant and today without Martin. The only real disappointment for me thus far is the IL game. Otherwise, this is where I'd thought we be. November is there for the taking.

No question we would have still been destroyed by ohio st and michigan if gio was qb but today's game shows why I'm really optimistic about our future. This is a team gutted by floods inept recruiting yet you can make the case that this could have very well been a 5-3 team.

Nobody knows how the team would yhave looked if Gio was playing earlier in the year. I just love that the short passes are mostly on target and receivers can now run after the catch.

Agree- we are not on that level, or UW's, but I think after them in the B1G aside from Wisky and Neb who we don't play, there are a whole lot of middling teams in this conference.

That is what annoys me- I know we can beat the Illinois and Iowas of the world. This season could have been less painful, maybe even average.

Ohio State and Michigan I expect to face each other undefeated last week. There is no one in this conference on that level, IMO.

Beat PSU and one other team and I'll be doing cartwheels into the off season.

You are 100% correct there are middling teams we can compete with. Got to give it a year or two. We will get to THAT level...this much I am confident in. Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa, Illinois. Just give it a year or 2.
