12 people actually voted no? Can’t imagine why? You would think it would be easy to google who voted how but I can’t find it

The House votes to extend the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund for another 70 years. New York Daily News Congressional Reporter Michael McAuliff outlines some of the details of the bill which the CBO estimates will cost $10.2 billion per decade. Eleven Republicans voted No: Representative Arrington-TX Representative Biggs-AZ Representative Brooks-AL Representative Buck-CO Representative Cloud-TX Representative Gosar-AZ Representative Harris-MD Representative Hice-GA Representative Massie-KY Representative Norman-SC Representative Rose-TN Representative Amash (I-MI) also voted No.

Is that the same Justin Amash that the MSM and Dems are propping up as being courageous for denouncing Trump and the Rep party? I’m just try to keep score.

It is and I’m not surprised he voted no given his Freedom Caucus roots. It would be prudent to check all the no voters voting record on other spending-related bills before going after Amash because he says mean things about your “secret” crush Trump.

You may want to check your TDS at the door.

As I said earlier on this topic...

It's a check I hope I never have to cash.

No TDS champ. You brought him up. Perhaps if you stopped posting “TDS” in every thread people wouldn’t “confuse” you as just another Trump cultist.

Anyone who is surprised that Amash voted no has no understanding of his political views.

He is a pure libertarian and spending hawk he believes this is not a federal obligation

Exactly, but somehow the guy who claims he didn’t vote for Trump and isn’t a Trump lackey just felt the need to bring Trump up in this thread. Sad.

Like I said, I wonder what the track record of the other no votes were with regards to other pricey bills.

Those kind of votes are easy for purists because they know the bill will pass

Do any of the board Republicans have any commentary about how EVERY SINGLE DEM from AOC to the Blue Dogs voted for this, but 11 Republicans voted no?

Instead they want to talk about Amash who at least is consistent rather than a Republican luminary like Paul Gosar whose siblings released an ad begging people not to vote for him...shocking

Actually only one person mentioned him. I find it disgusting anyone would vote no. These people went in to try and save lives without thinking of the repercussions. They should be taken care of especially since states like California are giving healthcare for illegals

yep. i get the theory behind his argument...obviously in a perfect system you'll get to neutral by countering any spending with cuts...but this topic (9/11 responders) is not the one you pick to try and make your point with on conservative spending.

I hold our first responders in the highest regard right up there close to the military. We should always err on the side of taking care of them. While I would like to know the specific reason why those who voted against did, I can’t imagine there’s a good one. No different why the squad voted against the package to assist the illegals.

Rand Paul is happy to sop up as much money as he can get for his Kentucky folk. It was great when Christie stuffed that up his ass during the debates .

    Summary:

Voted FOR healthcare for 9-11 First Responders: Every Democrat, including Omar, Pressley, AOC and Tlaib.

Voted AGAINST healthcare for 9-11 First Responders: 11 Republicans in the House, Rand Paul, Mike Lee

And Republicans have the gall to accuse others of being anti-America?
