You make a stupid post and in two responses still haven't answered the question. Give up idiot.
My post was dead on, it is not by problem that you are to stupid to understand it. Others seem to have had no problem, ever think it may be you?

Your post is complete bull ship AND it has nothing to do with my original question!

Answer this question. Please explain how college football fans interest in a good story hurts Rutgers Football?

Already explained. Positive and even glowing national and local media coverage of Temple does not help us with recruiting in South Jersey and Eastern PA for that 2 or 3 star kid who now may think that even though Temple plays in the American they will still get plenty of media attention. We are not Ohio State, we are a middle tier program, we still have to recruit against the better FBS teams in the area even if they are in a lesser conference. You are so arrogant that you think the B1G brand is a slam dunk for recruiting against the American so you will never understand, but most do. Again, ask Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, etc how the B1G brand precludes them from having to recruit some of the same kids as the better MAC schools.

If any of that is true it and most of its BS., it still doesn't apply to me or any college football fan who is enjoying the story. I don't recruit for Rutgers or Temple and neither do you. Stop being overall dramatic that Rutgers football fans on a message board are wrong for enjoying the story. We have no effect on what goes on at Rutgers.

Sorry, I am a Rutgers fan, I care about Rutgers and I don't get behind or "enjoy" other teams in the NE who we recruit against winning and getting a lot of local and national media attention. Now, do you want to know what would be some great feel good stories for a Rutgers fan? How about Penn State goes 0-12, Maryland, Pitt, Syracuse, and BC each go 1-11, and UConn and Temple drop football. Now those are some real feel good stories we could all "enjoy".

you are spot on...the reality is that Rutgers football is not on firm enough footing for success at schools like Pitt or Syracuse or yes even Temple to not matter. Am I worried about Narduzzi at Pitt? Sure am. Am I worried that Temple could take some of the 2 or 3 stars that Flood is signing? Yup..its not like we are signing 4 star folks. The so called diamonds in the rough are also being courted by schools like Temple.

But your post is insanely retarded for the fact that you are calling out posters who LOVE Rutgers but are college football fans too. We. Meaning you, me and everyone one this board have zero impact on recruiting. Zero. Stop telling real college football fans how to act. And again if Temple is getting players that Rutgers wants...which is total BS...Than that's a Kyle Flood problem not a Rutgers fan problem. Please stop your complete garbage.

I'm not worried about Temple...but outside RU i wish them luck like i would any little brother. When we have to worry about losing commits to them...its on the coach.Time to look for our guy.....only our coach and the recruit would regret losing a bigtime opportunity.

...just make sure to mock the 'Jersey Accent' to PJ Walker and Nate Smith, malenko. I'd also post that on your fellas' free board but you don't have one anymore...I never thought a board poster would lead me to root for Notre Dame but you just did.

Already got one chief. You can thank us for giving you a board to post on since apparently yours is either defective or lousy...enjoy it now, because for programs like ours it certainly doesn't last long. Mock me all you want now but in a year or two, you'll remember.

You got embarrassed because you acted like you knew something and then the facts didn't bear it out. Let it go. As for my argument, why would any Rutgers fan be rooting for Temple, still makes no sense any way you cut it.

Side note about 97.5--a bunch of their hosts went to Temple, so they're obviously more hyped up about this week than a normal Philadelphian.

Those hosts on 97.5 in the morning are HORRIBLE! I'm not sure why the station stopped playing Mike and Mike and went to these idiots. Its all Eagles talk most of the time and they don't know much about football.

The sports radio station in Philadelphia talks about the Eagles most of the time during football season? I'm stunned. Also, 97.5 went to a local show because more people wanted it and not the circus show that is Mike and Mike (as the rating clearly show).

I'll take your word for "it certainly doesn't last long", Mr. Voice of Experience.

I'm so sad because I have to root for Temple.

Actually your memory fails you; Temple isn't exactly my favorite team but I've never said that. What I have said is that the shame of the current setup (P5/ G5) and being in the AAC is that every year it's sort of like playing Press Your Luck with the postseason. You have 3 great teams this year and 1 of them will likely end up in a NY6 game, while one of the other 2 will likely end up in the Webster's Dictionary Bowl on December 12th vs. Sun Belt #3. I honestly do think that's a shame.

Some of you may recall the Army team of 1996, which jumped out to a 9-0 start and finished 10-2 and lost to Auburn by 3 in the Independence Bowl. They were the darlings of the New York (and probably beyond) media. You guys pulled off something similar in 2006, and got the same reaction. This time, It's Temple's turn. It's great to see it go national, and is one of the things that make college football a great game (in spite of itself, more and more).
I remember that team. I remember watching them run back and forth down the field all day long against one of Terry Shea's teams at the Meadowlands. I think Navy was pretty good that year too if I am not mistaken.

I recall so many people giving excuses why no one showed up at BTN's first attempt at doing a College GameDay at Rutgers last year. And how foolish they will look Saturday. Temple, as of this morning has booked over 40 buses to take students over to Gameday. They expect it to be triple that by Saturday. Its not on campus, not near the stadium and 11 hours before kickoff

Is this heated argument about the respective prospects of the Temple and Rutgers football programs really worth anyone's time? Tell you what Temple fans. I believe Rutgers and temple are scheduled to play somewhere around 2020 and '21. I will do a long term bet of $200 that Rutgers wins both games. We can exchange PayPal addresses, just let me know.

It's also College Gameday, not some startup BTN show doing something for the first time ever.

It is Rutgers conference channel, the most successful conference channel by a landslide, it was against Penn State, it was Rutgers first Big Ten game. Please stop with excuses why there was only 100+ people there!

I'm not excusing it, but the fact of the matter is a BTN pregame show wont draw flies compared to Gameday at any school. BTN pregame vs PSU was embarrassing sure, but if anyone thinks the campus wouldn't be going nuts and Gameday wouldn't be crazy if/when it came here, they're joking themselves.

I'm not so sure of that. Rutgers can't get more than 100+ to an epic game at 11pm not 9am like Gameday. And after seeing the parking lots at 3/4pm this past weekend hosting #1 and the defending National Champs

As one of the few dual Temple/Rutgers fans here is my unity comment: whoever would have thought, back 15 or so years ago, that Rutgers and Temple would get the national ABC primetime game in successive weeks?

My, what a HUGE fan base you have there, Grandma! I'm so jealous of people who are bigger than us.
Dude, before you go beating your chest Rutgers fans owned the Linc the last time we played there. By a 5 to 1 margin. We suck this year and Rutgers still gets 55k. 2 years ago Temple barely got 55k for the season.
Enjoy the season and STFU

5 to 1?? Man, lay off those controlled substances because I need them because I'm so pathetic that I have to troll another team's board.

Dude. There is a million pictures of that game. Rutgers fans were from both your 20s all away around. 5/1 is being generous. On a beautiful day and none of your 5k fans showed up. Please stop. Have fun this season and next year you will be back to oblivion with a new coach and no seniors.
Funny you pick on me because I'm one of the few people excited about what's going on at Temple thus season but jack assess like you make me want to root for ND. A team I hate. Do yourself a favor and stop being a dick and stay off this board. You are a clown without facts

We did have a lot of fans there.
The parking lots were nearly all RU fans. And the biggest day for the bar complex called Xfinity Live was that afternoon post game. That comes the manager and several beer wholesale people. It was crazy and one of the best fall days.

Many (perhaps most) of the locals took that underground rail thingy that stops outside the stadium, as per usual.
Yes I agree all 500 of them came by the Broad Street Line.
Please stop. I was there as were many more Rutgers fans. I'm sure you weren't there because you are making really stupid posts.

Temple was in the low 20,000's for almost all of their home games in 2012. 35,000+ were at the Temple/RU game. I'm sure that spike wasn't because Temple was trying to pack the lower bowl for a match-up against Rutgers....
