Your post is complete bull ship AND it has nothing to do with my original question! My post was dead on, it is not by problem that you are to stupid to understand it. Others seem to have had no problem, ever think it may be you?
Already explained. Positive and even glowing national and local media coverage of Temple does not help us with recruiting in South Jersey and Eastern PA for that 2 or 3 star kid who now may think that even though Temple plays in the American they will still get plenty of media attention. We are not Ohio State, we are a middle tier program, we still have to recruit against the better FBS teams in the area even if they are in a lesser conference. You are so arrogant that you think the B1G brand is a slam dunk for recruiting against the American so you will never understand, but most do. Again, ask Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, etc how the B1G brand precludes them from having to recruit some of the same kids as the better MAC schools.Your post is complete bull ship AND it has nothing to do with my original question!
Answer this question. Please explain how college football fans interest in a good story hurts Rutgers Football?
If any of that is true it and most of its BS., it still doesn't apply to me or any college football fan who is enjoying the story. I don't recruit for Rutgers or Temple and neither do you. Stop being overall dramatic that Rutgers football fans on a message board are wrong for enjoying the story. We have no effect on what goes on at Rutgers.Already explained. Much greater than the odds of YOUR head coach staying!
Sorry, I am a Rutgers fan, I care about Rutgers and I don't get behind or "enjoy" other teams in the NE who we recruit against winning and getting a lot of local and national media attention. Now, do you want to know what would be some great feel good stories for a Rutgers fan? How about Penn State goes 0-12, Maryland, Pitt, Syracuse, and BC each go 1-11, and UConn and Temple drop football. Now those are some real feel good stories we could all "enjoy".If any of that is true it and most of its BS., it still doesn't apply to me or any college football fan who is enjoying the story. But your post is insanely retarded for the fact that you are calling out posters who LOVE Rutgers but are college football fans too. We. Meaning you, me and everyone one this board have zero impact on recruiting. Zero. Stop telling real college football fans how to act. And again if Temple is getting players that Rutgers wants...which is total BS...Than that's a Kyle Flood problem not a Rutgers fan problem. I'm not worried about Temple...but outside RU i wish them luck like i would any little brother. When we have to worry about losing commits to them...its on the coach.Time to look for our guy.....only our coach and the recruit would regret losing a bigtime opportunity. But your post is insanely retarded for the fact that you are calling out posters who LOVE Rutgers but are college football fans too. You got embarrassed because you acted like you knew something and then the facts didn't bear it out. Let it go. As for my argument, why would any Rutgers fan be rooting for Temple, still makes no sense any way you cut it.But your post is insanely retarded for the fact that you are calling out posters who LOVE Rutgers but are college football fans too. Those hosts on 97.5 in the morning are HORRIBLE! I'm not sure why the station stopped playing Mike and Mike and went to these idiots. Its all Eagles talk most of the time and they don't know much about football.
Why doesn't Temple football have a fan board anymore?
I'll take your word for "it certainly doesn't last long", Mr. Voice of Experience.
I'm so sad because I have to root for Temple.
I remember that team. I remember watching them run back and forth down the field all day long against one of Terry Shea's teams at the Meadowlands. I think Navy was pretty good that year too if I am not mistaken. Some of you may recall the Army team of 1996, which jumped out to a 9-0 start and finished 10-2 and lost to Auburn by 3 in the Independence Bowl. They were the darlings of the New York (and probably beyond) media. You guys pulled off something similar in 2006, and got the same reaction. This time, It's Temple's turn. It's great to see it go national, and is one of the things that make college football a great game (in spite of itself, more and more).
It is Rutgers conference channel, the most successful conference channel by a landslide, it was against Penn State, it was Rutgers first Big Ten game. Please stop with excuses why there was only 100+ people there! It's also College Gameday, not some startup BTN show doing something for the first time ever.

I'm not so sure of that. Rutgers can't get more than 100+ to an epic game at 11pm not 9am like Gameday. And after seeing the parking lots at 3/4pm this past weekend hosting #1 and the defending National ChampsI'm not excusing it, but the fact of the matter is a BTN pregame show wont draw flies compared to Gameday at any school. BTN pregame vs PSU was embarrassing sure, but if anyone thinks the campus wouldn't be going nuts and Gameday wouldn't be crazy if/when it came here, they're joking themselves.
Dude, before you go beating your chest Rutgers fans owned the Linc the last time we played there. By a 5 to 1 margin. We suck this year and Rutgers still gets 55k. 2 years ago Temple barely got 55k for the season. My, what a HUGE fan base you have there, Grandma! I'm so jealous of people who are bigger than us.

Enjoy the season and STFU
The parking lots were nearly all RU fans. And the biggest day for the bar complex called Xfinity Live was that afternoon post game. That comes the manager and several beer wholesale people. It was crazy and one of the best fall days.We did have a lot of fans there.
The parking lots were nearly all RU fans.
Yes I agree all 500 of them came by the Broad Street Line. Many (perhaps most) of the locals took that underground rail thingy that stops outside the stadium, as per usual.
4th largest, not 5th:UConn fans should be s**tting their pants right now. If Temple ever got their act together enough why would the ACC ever take Uconn over Temple? Temple is located in the 5th largest media market in the US.
4th largest, not 5th:
