And so it begins, Big 10 on Fri. nights

Yes, but how many of the non NJ schools play on Friday nights?

The key isn't the day, it's the outcome ("W").

MO
I'm not sure, but we are talking about RU home games, no? I did post grad studying in Iowa and yes they played Friday nights. But the assumption that noon or even 3:30 RU games do not limit coaches and players from right here in NJ is incorrect.

Would gladly trade a Saturday noon game for a Friday night one

Not me. Friday night game means I either need to take time off work or go to work (leave at 7AM), drive back North to get the wife, head South (during a Friday rush hour on either 287 or the Parkway) to get there right as it starts, watch for 3.5 hours and then back home at 11 if I am lucky. Long day.

Bet on Michigan State opening game being one of the six as they've played on Friday night for the past 6 years and they have a large stadium relatively speaking.

This is no biggie. In 2014 we opened up on a Thursday night on the west coast. I'd rather open up on a Friday night at home against Washington than a Saturday noon opener. Rutgers will get a larger crowd. Either way fans are going to complain. Can't win.

Ha!! Where's Whitebus!!! Thought it would be a Thursday but Friday even better. I accept Whitebus' apology!

Psyched! Better than Saturday @ noon.

And all those RU fans who said B1G only on Saturday... same ones who said no non conference homecoming games...

New world! Hope we get a couple!!!

Cool marketing: Friday Knight Lights!!!

There's no great answer for any of this. I work til 11 or noon every other Saturday so that stinks for me personally. Saturday night games I love, but the traffic/hassle getting home at midnight or thereabouts isn't fun when you have kids with you. The nooners are bad for people with kids that have activities. The Thursday evening games were a logistical nightmare for me. I figured things out and went, USF/Louisville were 2 of the GREATEST games/atmoshphere at the stadium. There are pros and cons to any start time. Sometimes it works in your favor (I'm not working this weekend) and sometimes is doesn't.

We don't know what games will be moved to Friday night labor day weekend yet as the article mentioned 2 games will be played on that day. Everybody is scheduled for the Saturday sept. 2 except for Minnesota (Thursday night) and Michigan State (bye). You think Michigan State wants to open week 1 with a bye.

Hey Rutgers Al,

Can we become the LSU of the north with Friday Knight games?

Sweet!

I didn't say those games were moved sorry if I was confusing. I'm betting on those 2, however, to kick things off.

Maybe they can make the Yankee stadium game vs maryland the Friday game and then keep the complaints about each of these issues Yankee game and Friday night) limited to the single game instead of two.
I personally hate thurs/fri night games as someone who works in NYC mostly until 6-7pm. At best spend $30 for train if no ride available to get there as or after it starts and at worst missing it altogether.
I get they're trying to generate more total games on Tv but it's funny that the general thought about game in Bronx was to bring in ny area fans and then this Friday game does complete opposite and alienates most of them. Like it was said...there will be issues for some with every scenario.

Ah, got it. I agree with you. Can easily see them moving our game with Washington up to Friday night

Called this right after the FOX deal was signed. Makes so much sense. Big Ten will be the only game in town.

Love it.

The YS came has to be in November and the Friday night games will be in September and October

Just noticed that Michigan State's 2nd week (first game) opponent, Bowling Green is scheduled to play another team on labor day weekend for BG's opener. That means they wouldn't move up the Michigan State game for Friday night labor day weekend

I'm seeing Sat Sept 2nd vs South Dakota St for BGSU's opener.

What do you expect. They only recently started playing night games. For now, lets take the monies, build our program and consistently start beating all these clowns. Beggars can't be choosers right now and lets face it... we're beggars for now.

I expected this as well. Only game in town? ESPN is giving us the exclusive Fri night window & not showing multiple games on the ESPN family of networks from ACC, AAC, CUSA, MWC, P12, MAC, BYU?

Not me, I like this one.

Me 2. Just hope it's on ESPN, not Fox. I like PAC Friday nights, but usually miss the live game, and Fox only replays them at certain times, like 4:30 a.m.

Or if Fox would just remember it's 2016 and people don't sit down to watch games, especially replays, at one time, that'd be fine too.

Was wondering this, too. PAC12 has had regular Fri games for a couple years and probably some of those others, too.

Noon games are the worst. I go for the tailgate as much as for the game. Give me a Friday night game where I leave work at 2-3 and get to the lots by 5:30-6:00. Only problem is Rush Hour traffic, but I still like Friday night games better.

It's funny that we were just talking about B1G playing some thursday night games.

Same idea without the NFL considerations.

Good idea but don't own (okay, rent : ) a DVR and refuse to pay for one in this day and age of on-demand content. I'll adjust my schedule around an RU game, the rest I just hope to catch on replay. Fox's app is just weak sauce.

B1G also said it likely won't be at stadiums with large crowds, aka no OSU PSU UM and Nebraska. Lots of rutgers and Purdue I fear
michigan told them they wont play on friday at home or on the road.

Yeah, that sounds much more convenient for everyone.

My bill is freaking ridiculous, but I do love my DVR.

conversely I never on demand. With verizon dsl and directv, it's a hassle.
