As for next season, Goodale did not rule out a move to heavyweight for Campolattano, but the coach made it clear he believes the strongest lineup would include Campolattano at 197 pounds. Rutgers currently has one of the nation's top heavyweights in redshirt junior Billy Smith, who is ranked as high as No. 13 in the national polls.

"The most important thing for me when I took on this responsibility, it was about Andrew getting a great education, doing a great job in society and the wrestling would come," Goodale added. "We didn't force the wrestling issue. He struggled with it and that's okay. He's doing a great job right now in our practice room. He's doing a great job training with Billy Smith. He never misses a go. He's on time, he's ready to go every single day and that's all we can ask for."
