Weather is expected to be typical near-desert weather for the game.? As I said in a thread a month ago, one could've predicted the weather for Fresno based on climatology, since it's almost always warm/hot/sunny/low humidity?during the day, with rapidly dropping temps after sunset.?On average, 8/29 has a high of 95F and a low of 65F and the predicted temps for 8/29 this?year are...wait for it...96/67F, i.e., just about average.?
Rainfall is almost unheard of in August/September in Fresno.? And temps should be in the upper 80s by kickoff, which is just after sundown, with temps dropping through the 80s and into the upper 70s by the end of the game.? Humidity is bone dry during the day and gets a bit higher (30-50%) after sundown with the cooling air (the amount of moisture is largely unchanged, but the relative humidity increases as temps fall).? So talk of the heat and needing all kinds of precautions (other than keeping hydrated in the low humidity to reduce cramping)?are kind of silly - the conditions after sunset won't be all that much different than here on that day.?
In some ways, this game makes the season or at least the first part: 3-0 with momentum into the Arky game is a huge difference from 2-1 with tons of questions after a loss against the only good team on our schedule before Arkansas.? Want to win this one badly after what they did to us at home a few years back.? Going to be tough though, against their passing attack, which reminds me so much of recent Cincy teams.? We might just need to outscore them, given our very inexperienced defense (which I think will be very good later in the year, but could struggle early on).? Nova needs to be big.?
