At the end of the day you just don’t agree to scheduling arrangements that hurt your SOS relative to the rest of the field. The obvious solution is for us to also get to play a road game at a pro venue nearby another BIG school in the same season. Hopefully that’s what we’re pushing for - because that would be great for our program. Two guaranteed games on national TV.

Just curious how far people came from to get to MSG. We met up with friends from Long Island and Stamford, CT. Easy train in for all of us.

I get that no one wants to give up home court at the RAC but we definitely brought together a lot of out of town alum and fans of the program that couldn’t normally get into the RAC for a big time opponent. If we get to regionals at MSG, this will have been an invaluable experience for our players.

I would think playing in a few very large and unfamiliar venues is good practice for any tournament games

Giving away conference games is nutty.
For a home game there were as a lot of pro MSU stuff. Intros, their pep band, prime seats.
Have to wonder how many would have felt about this experience had we lost or had we lost three in a row to MSU, Indiana and Illinois….if it cost us seeding…
Fair is fair. Next year let’s Play Indiana or Purdue at The Pacers arena. Play Northwestern at United…. Major league arenas and help our brand. Shouldn’t keep treating RU different for conference games.

It would be okay if it was a home and home arrangement once every season or so. At least then the computer treatment sort of has benefit to us. Road wins come at a premium so it wouldn’t be that bad to get an easier road opportunity in exchange for a harder home game.

The BIG should work out a way though for “home games” at these venues to be part of the season ticket packages since they would truly be designated “home”. There are more than enough extra seats at pro stadiums to work this out. Even if they have to subsidize. They still make it up in the back end.

If we want to be New York City's Team then we need to play MSG. We should be bringing all of our NYC recruits to this game. This is a huge opportunity every year. Like I said next year we should get a B1G team away game at MSG. Should alternate every year between away and home.

You can do that without losing home conference game…

- play a NYC local there
- sponsor a holiday tournament there
- broker a big OCC game there

As I have said in multiple threads on this topic: love the idea of playing there. Just not a fan of the way the B1G does it.

Completely agree with this line of thinking (schedule with Schiano so that you have a MAJOR recruiting weekend the same as a game at MSG)!!!
