Interesting article - "Albrecht to Purdue: Take a look at other Big Ten-to-Big Ten transfers"

In one of the football cases listed, it's hard to believe that the other teams in the division, like Rutgers and Maryland for instance, OK'd the extremely fortuitous transfer of Iowa QB Jake Rudock to Michigan.

What exactly does this mean? ... "a waiver from the Big Ten". You would think that the teams affected by the transfer would have some say.

Some of these guys transferred and played years ago--Luke Recker, for example. He started with Indiana in the 90's, as I remember, but didn't want to play for Bob Knight and transferred to some other school before ending up at Iowa. But Albrecht is major. Maybe Michigan did not have the graduate courses he wanted, or maybe there was another reason, but he can play.

Many years ago way before Rutgers admission to the Big Ten, Indiana transfer Rob Hodgson played at Rutgers. Terrific all-around talent. Almost too unselfish at times. A fine example of a transfer who made substantial contributions.
