Amazing the number of players staying in-state. No mention of Rutgers (offers) in the article to show that there is a at least a trickle of interest (or recruiting interest on our part) in our direction of the Michigan/NJ pipeline. Syracuse and Maryland are mentioned.

I realize there's still a bunch of undecided, but I only count about 10 out of 25 presently committed to stay in state. That is not a great percentage given that there are two top-tier P5 teams in the state and a few big mid-majors.

8 of the top 16 committed to Michigan and Michigan State.
3 of the top 16 committed to Ohio State, Syracuse, Arizona.
4 of the remaining 5 top 16 are Undecided and include offers from Michigan and Michigan State.
The 1 Undecided in the top 16 without a Michigan and Michigan State offer is listed at 5-11, 177.
Impressive enough for me.

Only 1 of the Top 25 going to Western Michigan. Wonder if they're assuming Fleck is gone after this year.

I don't think we have ever really recruited Michigan. Probably not an effective use of our limited resources.

Who is the D1 program in NJ?

Michigan also has 5 in state D1 programs. NJ has 1
Do you mean that the taxpayers of the state are paying for 5 Athletic programs in the state? They must not even know
about it or they'd be complaining about it in comments in their newspapers like NJ people do in the SL.

10 of the top 25 in Michigan are staying in state. But 11 of the top 25 committed in NJ are going to RU, so our recruiting is right up there. "Keep the jersey kids home" well right now ash is doing a better job than Flood ever did, & people who do the research here can see we have something brewing ...

Tell that to our starting QB.

Having a player from a state is different from actively recruiting a state. To my knowledge, we have never dedicated any resources toward recruiting MI or in trying to establish any type of territorial presence in Michigan.

QB recruiting is very different, as it is usually done on a more national basis. If there are no local kids, or kids in your recruiting areas available, you have to look elsewhere. Gio was a kid we offered at the last minute (a couple weeks from signing day IIRC), who I believe had no other P5 offers. So that is just an instance where the staff identified a kid and made him a great offer, and got him to commit. It wasn't due to any Rutgers presence in Michigan. I am not sure if they played each other or not, but I always assumed we knew about Rescigno because of Weigers.

Just stop. If Rutgers printed money like Michigan you wouldn't hear a peep out of anybody.
