In case you have forgotten, Amanda Zahui B left Minnesota last year, after just her sophomore year, and was drafted 2nd by the Tulsa shock.

(Jewel Lloyd of Notre Dame also left early last year and was drafted 1st.)

We did beat Minnesota last year, even with Amanda Zahui B, but all indications are that they are still strong this year. Thursday should be a good tough game.

Honestly I wasn't that impressed with Zahui B and surprised she was drafted that highly. A good player for sure but not a 1st round pick as a sophomore. But I guess that's why I'm not a coach or GM.

They bring back their leading scorer, Rachel Banham, who although playing 10 games last year was awarded a 5th year (hmmmm..Alexis Burke didn't get her extra year!). Banham has scored more than 2100 points going into this year and had already played in 112 games.

Her 2015 biography includes:
2015
• Naismith Trophy Early Season Top 50
• John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 30
• "Wade Watch" list
• Preseason Big Ten Player of the Year (coaches and media)
• espnW Preseason All-America Second Team
• AP Preseason All-America Honorable Mention
• Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll (Dec. 8)
• Minnesota Women's Basketball Gopher Spirit Award
