hello - I’ll be attending my first men’s basketball game at the RAC next week and had some questions.

1) what’s the policy on bringing kids? Does everyone require a ticket or are kids under a certain age free?

2) is there anywhere to park close to the RAC without a parking pass? Are their paid or free lots?

3) I know HPSS does not sell beer outside of the Audi club. Is there anywhere to grab a beer at the RAC (premium or non- premium seating)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ok, I’ll bite;

1). Buy the kids a ticket. Maybe you can put one on your lap if you have one on each side of you.

2). Parking is $10.00. Very close to the entrance. You can probably park free a mile or so away but the tow will offset the savings.

3). Have a beer at home after the win.

Hope this was helpful. Enjoy the game.

There is a cash bar in the Hospitality Area, which is open before the game and during halftime. You need a Hospitality Pass to enter the Hospitality Area, and you can not take drinks from the Hospitality area to your seat (you cannot see the court from the Hospitality Area). As far as I know, Rutgers does not sell single game passes to the Hospitality Area, though you may be able to buy one off the secondary market. Also, depending on your R Fund donation level, you may have a free pass as part of your R Fund benefits.

Here is a map which shows parking lots (shaded in dark gray) on Livingston Campus. There is gameday parking for $10 (maybe less) in the Yellow Lot RAC. You may be able to find free parking elsewhere on campus, but be sure to read the signs entering the lot to ensure you are not parked illegally.

Regarding No. 2, I’ve parked for free dozens and dozens of times for basketball and never been ticketed, let alone towed. Stop spreading misinformation.

Perhaps tell the gentleman inquiring where this abundant free parking is located? Misinformation vs no information...

I have as well, although this year may be a little different because of the construction.

Anywhere on Livingston besides the RAC lots. I’m a Towers guy the past few years. Before that used the library lot.

library definitely tickets but not on weekends...although on one Sunday did get a warning which is ridiculous as its an open lot on weekends
