The Rutgers women will be hosting two of the major competitors for the conference regular season title this week in Purdue and Michigan State. If they can take care of business at home, they can open up some distance in the conference standings.

I hope that fans begin showing up in greater numbers to support this team. I will finally get to see them next weekend (and the men next Monday) when I fly in from Tucson later in the week. Hoping to see a pair of big RU victories.

We can solidify 1st with 2 wins or fall as far as 6th with 2 losses. HUGE week. 1 game at a time need 80 full minutes

We so would have liked to have made a game - primarily Viv's 1000 - but unlike you, we don't fly from Tucson, we drive (I don't fly). And her health wasn't up to the drive. Maybe next year.

Knight Time fan,

Where in Tucson do you live? We've been here just a little more than a year but I've spent less than half the time since we moved out here actually being in Tucson. So I still don't know the place very well.

I've noticed you mentioning going to UofA games a few times. What is your Rutgers affiliation?

I'm a Rutgers alum and had season tix for the women from Viv's arrival till we moved out here in early 2011. Also traveled to away games, scanning the country for where we wanted to move.

We are more or less northeast Tucson, but not as far as the foothills or the far east. Near the intersection of Wrightstown Road and Camino Seco. Just inside the city limits. Love It.

And as to the U of A, no affiliation, but support the locals. Have season tix for football, volleyball, WBB and softball. Haven't been able to make many games, but hopefully . . . Also donated into the Wildcat Club. When in Rome (or Tucson) . . .

You guys probably already know this, but just in case you don't,there is a Rutgers Alumni group in Arizona. Here is more information--http://www.alumni.rutgers.edu/s/896...4&ecid=14434&crid=0&calpgid=7714&calcid=13919

Thanks. I didn't know about that. But that one is up in Phoenix, a good 2 - 2 1/2 hours away from Tucson - distances are great in AZ. Is there, by chance a club in Tucson, which is the second major population center in the state, though much smaller than the 4 million plus people who live in Maricopa County, home to Phoenix and its sprawling suburbs.

Eco,
There are a lot around the country, but that is the only one I see listed for Arizona. You might want to give the Alumni office a call and see if there are enough Rutgers Alumni in the Tucson area to start one.

Cool that you guys support the University of Arizona sports. When I spent a few years out of state, I got football season tickets for Clemson, University of South Carolina, and UVA. Made quite a few South Carolina basketball and baseball games.

I'm on their mailing list, I also kept Kelly up to date about my wife's health and he sent a nice note after hearing of the transplant. In addition to parties watching Rutgers football, which would not be convenient, they have been doing monthly events, some quite interesting, although we were only able to make one, a lunch and visit to the well known Heard Museum in Phoenix.

They are doing the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) on Sunday, we hope (wife's health permitting) to join them. It is 1 mile from Mayo Clinic Hospital which is where our hotel is. We've been to the museum, but the group is going to hear a short concert (Spanish Guitar) and tour the Electric Guitar special exhibit. Then free to do the museum, but we have done it already and that would be beyond her strength right now. Its huge, and if you have never been there, I strongly recommend it.

I really would suggest you contact Kelly, let him know you are a Tucsonan, but get on the e-mail list.

Wow, I didn’t realize that you had been in AZ for that long! We miss you, and look forward to Amy being strong enough to travel back here for a game or two next year.
