The first time in I don’t know how many years RU has the personnel to be a truly balanced offense. We have a gem of a rb in Monongai who ran 19 times for 78 net yards and quality backups along with the best potential wr corps since 2007 with Miller, Strong, Duff, Black and even Long thrown in and a capable pass threat te in Fletcher.

You could argue that Kirk could have given the rock a few more times to Monongai and/or Brown but do folks actually believe that RU can beat quality opponents in the BIG and play from behind on the road by running one back more than 25 times? Even with the most prolific offense in RU history in 2007 with a 2k yd rb in Ray Rice, Mike Teel threw for 3k yds and had two 1k yd wrs in Britt and Underwood.

Folks, you’re not going to get to the area of 8-10 wins without throwing the ball. You could argue that Kirk needed better designed plays or that Kyle needed a couple more touches but RU does not run to the outside and the Neb interior defense was as stout as could be and our offensive line play left a lot to be desired.

Athan threw 37 times and RU ran 32 times. I’m fine with the run/pass ratio to win games. The line play and play designs are another issue.

Let’s beat the Badgers.
