The winds have taken a dramatic shift. Multiple good sources have all collaborated that Barchi has or will blink again and will not be making any changes. Flood will return next year and probably be back in 2017 even if he goes 1-10. Barchi does not want to make the spend nor does he have the stomach to potentially expose his athletic department over this report. Of course this could be wrong and Barchi could decide to grow a pair and actually pull the string but all indications are that he will not. He will instead kick the can down the road.

If true, this is a dramatic shift which will cement that Barchi and the RU administration can care less about anything more than mediocrity. In my view, it sends a horrible message to donors and season ticket holders that you may as well wait for a new President and the BIG money to come in. Until then, it's ok if we suck so long as we get to "revenue neutral"

I would also expect no changes to the staff after hearing this. We all get another year of the wonderful defensive prowess of the likes of Rossi. A sad day for all who strive to actually see RU win.

I have no sources but will still call bulls**t on your post over the premise that "nor does he have the stomach to potentially expose his athletic department over this report".

First, if Rutgers discovers something in the investigation they need to self report it or they would be potentially facing even more severe punishment for the coverup and second, when did Barchi ever care enough about the athletic department to want to avoid embarrassing it?

I think this is a troll post. There will definitely be at least some coaching changes, even if not the HC.

Anyone who could pick up vibes - knew his departure was unlikely. Next year a 6-6 season does it though

Hard to believe. He can't be that dumb. I wish this investigation would just finish and publish its report.

If its not the HC then I could care less what gets done with the staff. You would have to overpay big time to get someone reputable to join this sinking ship.

Why even initiate an investigation if you don't want to expose the athletic department. I haven't changed my opinion and still think a change will be made but we'll see in a week or so.

After decades too its hard to argue with zappas take.

If true we would be driving this so down it will take another reclamation project. Would be a great shame on all the current caretakers

You have no idea how many times a report can be sanitized from an internal investigation before it's released. The report in September was edited for 3 weeks before it was released. Many, many things were taken out from the original

I DON''T EVER WANT TO HEAR AGAIN FROM ANYONE THAT BARCHI IS A GREAT SCHOOL PRESIDENT.

I will be finished with football and the handful of people who love supporting Flood can enjoy watching us go 0 for 10 in the Class of 2017 NJ Top 10 next year and listen to our stadium get taken over by Michigan and PSU next year.

Keep thinking Kyle Flood is this great guy. I have never seen someone so unqualified able to be so arrogant and manipulate people and keep thinking Julie Hermann is this great AD. She can't even make the decision to keep him or fire him, what does that tell you?

Not surprised if true.

Myself and my crew will be back as usual next year rooting on the team

Seems like no one knows and it's a your guess is as good as mine choice.
But there were and are plenty of posters here that said Flood wouldn't be leaving and Barchi would find a reason to keep him.
Then there were the ones that claimed inside knowledge that it was a done deal and Kyle was out.

Only thing both points of views have in common, both really don't know if he'll stay or if he'll go, but act like they do
Bet Flood don't know either and is saying this to Julie :

I can honestly say that if Coach Flood is back, I am done. No more tickets or donations. I refuse to support a program that chooses this path.

IF this admin. is stupid enough to bring back this guy as HC, (which I still am hoping it's not), I doubt the record will be anywhere near as good as 6-6. -And we'll be annihilated on the field by the same B1G teams that have done it for the last 2 years in a row.

It'll be the same display of coaching ineptitude we've seen over and over again this year. And on top of that, we'll still be hearing Coach Binary slinging around his 1-0 BS, all the while rarely being able to actually go 1-0.

I hope you are all correct and that this is really BS. I'd want nothing more than for the administration to show commitment to winning and make a move. But expect to be in the same place next week where we are today as disappointing as it may seem

if flood is back my son and I are done. we have been going to Rutgers games together for the past 10 years. I cant watch this clown flood bring us back to the bad old days.

Meh. As soon as the 12/31 renewal deadline comes & goes he's going to have to spend $1.4 million on phone reps to try and get those 20,000 season tickets back.

Time for another gofundme. Let them keep shutting them down

If true, wouldn't call it a shift. Many people have been saying this. There's basically a group saying Barchi is fine with that status quo and has been all along..then there's the group saying Flood's been gone for a while. Hopefully we get an answer soon.

That was my same thinking back in 1999 when not only was Terry Shea not fired, but they extended his contract. I cancelled my season tickets then.

I have no idea what's true and what's not. I get the feeling most here don't either.

What I do believe is true is no college president would keep Flood if there was a way around it. And the reason Barchi can't falls squarely on the Alums and I'm sure many posters here who don't support the school financially the way alums across the country do theirs. If Flood stays on it's purely a financial decision, nothing else.

Just look at what we're hearing out of LSU. Their boosters at least put their money where their mouths are. Here people are talking about hurting the school and program's bottom line even more because the don't get their way.

Barchi does not care about you or me. If you don't renew your seats it won't matter. Our donations have already been shown to be a joke. He may think that no one cares because of the lack of donations who knows. We on these boards are a small loud minority with no power. He is back because he has to be. Barchi probably won't buy him out because it will cost a boat load of money. Whatever will happen we will find out soon enough.

You can have my Audi seats. My 3 year sentence is up and I'll be damned if I put one more nickel in that idiot Flood's pocket.

If he goes 6-6 next year he will get a 12 year extension. The Penn State fans will pretend to be new donors again and then welch on the deal.
