The more I watch BIG Basketball the more evident it becomes that most teams have multiple scoring threats (especially on the perimeter) and size with a point guard that looks to draw the double team And distribute. These year's RU team was not equipped to win in the BIG. Look forward to the future.

The Big Ten is a big time college BB conf, better than the former/current Big East. Most teams have 3-5 NBA prospects. RU talent is not close.

You sure about that? According to some on this board Jordan should have turned 4 scholarship players into league contenders in 2 years and 1 recruiting class.

I have to disagree that the B1G is better than the former Big East with Cuse, Uconn, GT, Nova, Pitt, L'Viile...that Big East consistently produced more tourney teams than the B1G.

I do agree that the Big Ten is better and I was surprised by that. I feel the best of the BE and the best of the B1G are probably around the the same but the B1G is just so, so much deeper. Every year in the BE there was probably about 5 teams who quite frankly were not good. USF and Depaul were 4 out of every 5 years bad, St Johns and SHU took turns being bad every year, Providence was meh, etc. and etc. In the B1G its just....well us.

I think the old Big East had far better high ranked teams ,coaching staffs and individual talent .Lets not kid our selves the strong interest for the B1G was football driven and the ACC would have been a better choice for basketball.

As to the style of play the B1G has taller and stronger players but the Big East had better outside shooters especially at the guard position. Look at UConn and Villanova to just name two schools how their small guards have carried their teams to tremendous seasons.

Love the B1G but better than the former Big East in hoops... don't think so. The best team in the nation last year was from the good old AAC!

This was actually a down year for the Big Ten teams compared to recent years. Michigan State and Michigan were not even close to being as good as they have been and Ohio State and Indiana did not like to play to defense this year.

I expect those teams to come back up to their "normal" levels and be much, much better.

We have so much work to do in getting players and becoming better.................

Best of Luck,
Groz

Those of u swho were in the stands at Providence have known this since 1989. LOL

Could not believe how big Iowa looked in person. Those were some big dudes.

Twister... Liked Your Turn of Phrase

But I think we're long on short (less talented) athletes. Many of our players think outside the rim...and there's the problem.~
