So what is your opinion of the biggest mistake, miscue, bad decision of the season so far?
I'll start.

Laviano as starting quarterback. Biggest Flood era carryover that most complained about last year. Changing your entire offense and not changing your QB was not a good coaching decision. Laviano's good practice didn't resonate at the games.
So far in Rescigno's two and a half games, his completion rate has been over 57% (unhurt), 54% (hurt), and 52% (still hurt).

Not staring with Gio sooner...big miss.
Special Teams needs major work.....its been 10 years..let's find a kicker who can put it near the Endzone.

It's hard to argue against seeing Gio sooner. We never even led in a Big Ten game in the first half of the season, and now that he's in we've been winning in the past 2 games, in the second half as well. We have been competitive with him as starter. Hope that continues in these next 3 games and then some improvement next year, as the Ash players start to come in.

Grant avoiding and breaking tackles in his last play. He goes down earlier, stays healthy. We didn't even score on that drive anyway.

We're lucky we found Gio when we did, he was an after thought getting next to no reps in practice when assigned to the scout team

Eh, it was more desperation then luck.

And ash's willingness to give all the QB options some game time.

Evaluating the returning talent and still running a system that doesn't match. Yes the result might have been the same, but I would like to think we would have played better offensively. I guess we'll never know if one of the other qbs might have fared better in a pro set or variation thereof, all we know is what we're trying to do isn't producing acceptable results. Ash already said he doesn't have the type qb to run his offense and decided CL was it.
There is still a talent gap and will be for awhile, but did most fans really expect it to be this bad ? Of course injuries didn't help, but you can't predict who will be affected.
The system change created a domino effect in other areas too so that is who we are going forward.

What kind of offensive system could this coaching staff have devised that didn't require blocking?

Burning Tylin's RS year is up there as well but agree the Gio move should have come earlier.

Uh, Laviano doesn't play defense, so he's got company as far as blame goes.
