PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Big Ten Conference revealed the home and road conference opponents that Rutgers men's basketball will face in the 2024-25 season.

For the upcoming season, the league will welcome new members USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington. In the first year of the 18-team conference, RU will face just three teams both at home and away: Michigan, Penn State and Purdue. Rutgers will have seven league teams that they face only at home to compose the 10-game home slate: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan State, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin. On the road only, RU will travel to Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Ohio State and Washington.

USC will make their first ever trip to Piscataway this season. RU has played the Trojans just twice, a pair of neutral site games in 1973 and 1974. UCLA will also make their first appearance at Jersey Mike's Arena. The Bruins and Scarlet Knights met three times between 1976 and 1981, twice at neutral sites and once in an away game for RU.

Rutgers will make its first trip to Oregon since 1985. The road game at Washington will be the first time in program history that RU will face the Huskies.

Game dates, times and television dates will be set at a future time.

The Scarlet Knights will embark on the 2024-25 season, welcoming the No. 3 recruiting class in the nation according to ESPN.com, the highest-rated group of newcomers in program history.

Loving the schedule. Don't have to go to Illinois or Michigan St. And Gavin doesn't have to come here

On balance, I think we have to be pretty happy with this. Hopefully, the games at Oregon and Washington are back to back and they just stay out there rather than make that trip twice. No travel to California is also nice. Definitely excited to get MSU back in the RAC.

There will be over 8000 unhappy RAC season ticket holders. What a reward to the folks who have been buying season tickets and parking tags for years. History gets moved to NYC.
I know. But that doesn't change anything. I thought we were just going to re-read the old thread on this topic?

I would hope that they do a Thursday-Saturday travel thing with those games.

Thought Maryland would be a home and home opponent given conference is trying to forge a rivalry. Guess Penn State is the geographical rivalry at least for this year in BB.

Would be surprised if UCLA game is not played at MSG.

Will be fun to see likely ranked Purdue / Sparty / Illinois squads come to the RAC.

Most importantly regardless of opponents - the season will be and should be lots of fun!

UCLA will be at the Garden. Not MSU.. we always crush MSU at home, & that streak will continue..
I might be making 2 trips out to Seattle for RU hoops, if ESPN early bracketology is correct…

Yes! RU vs. the Ducks in Eugene! Hopefully early in the season. Looking forward to finally seeing our team on the west coast.
An added benefit to the crazy expansion stuff - glad to see our West Coast alums having games out their way. My brother lives in the Seattle area now so that may need to be a future trip for me (obviously not this year).

Would imagine west coast alumni of all Big Ten schools are going to flock to Washington/UCLA/USC games when their team is out there once every two years.

Between that and the travel for the West Coast schools, have to think it puts them at a permanent competitive disadvantage

It better not!!!

Purdue & Penn were at MSG the final four year.
We beat Purdue w Kyle Macy & Penn was first game Bailey started..
This year we may get 2 at the Garden. UCLA moved from RAC & maybe Jimmy V classic?

Bummed that the Who’s Your Daddy Indiana Crew is away only. I wanted to witness Dylan light them up in person.

I think the home and home are going to rotate and not tied to rivalries.
