    Bob Mulcahy is the true godfather of Rutgers Athletics. He hired Greg Schiano and Scott Goodale and they led football and wrestling to their best ranking ever. Schiano and Goodale have brought more positive PR and Jersey Pride to Rutgers than anyone else in the last 15 years.

    Bob had the insight to hire two young coaches. Schiano and Goodale went on to develop outstanding men who exceed expectations in athletics at Rutgers and in life following graduation.

    Bob - thank you for your insight. Without you decisions, who knows where Rutgers would be today

    @rutgersfandan and @RUJON

    Can you please give us a heads up a little beforehand so we can maybe ask a question or two?

    Love that you do this but wouldn’t mind some advance warning. And I’m sure I’m not alone.

    Bob was a great life long friend of my dad. I've known him a very long time. He could get things done but never take the credit. That's how you get things done.

    @e5fdny Totally get it! Sometimes we don't have a ton of advanced warning based on guest scheduling, but when we do... we usually use Twitter as our platform for crowd-sourcing questions. @ScarletSpotRU.

    Bob covers a lot of ground in the podcast:

    - Greg Schiano's hiring in 2000 and his return in 2019
    - The unique challenges of hiring a coach at Rutgers, and with New Jersey politics in play
    - His removal from the AD position in 2008
    - His biggest successes (football, Goodale, etc.) & challenges (men's basketball)
    - The book he is releasing in February

    It all drops at 6 a.m. on every podcast service and at https://www.thescarletspotlight.com/.

    I listened this morning. Nice episode and I'm looking forward to BM's book. Would have liked if he went a little more in depth about basketball troubles (e.g., what differentiated the hires he made from Schiano and Goodale looking back on it), but was great to hear from him and there was a lot of interesting material there.

    Great job Dan and Jon! Will you get royalties from Bob’s book?
