Boeheim To Retire in 3 Years; AD Resigns

ESPN likes to give Boeheim a free pass. The guy should have resigned as well. Now we get to hear them singing his praises for 3 years in a lovefest while totally giving him a pass on their latest scandal.

With Boeheim for 3 years current recruits can still play for him. He will also be able to put a coach in waiting plan together. Cuse has the money and alumni base to hire a top tier hoops coach.

We saw how UConn was able to hire an alumnus as coach. Cuse as just as rich a history to do the same.

Remember, NCAA is allowing Syracuse to delay their scholarship restrictions till 2016-2017 so next year, Syracuse will be able to bring in a top class, plus be at full strength (13 scholarships).

Then the next few years will most likely have scholarship players with the sudden ability to pay for room/board/tuition and become instant walk-ons...keep Syracuse at/near full strength. (Pitino has done that for years).

there was a Zags article that Boeheim called Garry Battle to let him know what was coming down today. Tyus is looking at Cuse, Duke, Michigan, Ohio St, Louisville, UConn, and Notre Dame. I have to think that Cuse will get cut next. I can see the schools with a lot of 1 and dones as heavy possibilities for him. If he is concerned his coach may retire then ND, Ohio St, or Kentucky may be the leaders.

What may come into play though:
Boeheim - leaving while Tyus may still be on the team
Coach K - is 68 years old
Cal - is 56 years old
Pitino - is 62 years old
Beilein - is 62 years old
Matta - is 47 years old
Brey - is 55 years old
