Saw Boomer sitting courtside with Marco Battaglia yesterday. Schiano also went over and spent some time talking to him. I didn't get to hear all of the Boomer & Gio show earlier. Did he mention coming to RU and the RAC experience?

I’m sure Boomer would have had much more to say if UMD won…hope he enjoyed that mid court seat watching his team score 8 points in the first 15 minutes.
He did have an up close view to see MD have more turnovers than 2 pt field goals in the game, so that was nice.
Boomer is a tough listen now. He was good but now just dismisses people for not agreeing and laughs at them. I have not listened in about a year.
The NBA is unwatchable. So sick of the way the players run that league. Miss the days of team play, post play and coaches having the power to set things in motion. From Russell,Chamberlain, West through Bird,Magic and Jordan the league went from it's Golden Years to this current shitshow they call the NBA. I'll watch HS and college basketball any day. Coaches still coach and players listen!!!!!
Agreed, and i only started watching the nba in the early 2000's. I watch now and players are literally just walking around chucking up 3s and iso.

Nobody cares unless Boomer is going to start donating towards Rutgers. Jerry Recco is the only one on that show who talks positive about anything Rutgers.
This has nothing to do with Boomer's take. I've been around a lot longer than you I'm sure. Did you ever see Russell or Chamberlain play live? If you never saw these guys or that time frame I referenced, then your opinion of my take means zero. You missed out on so many great players, great team concepts and what was the foundation of what made the NBA. Your loss.
The NBA is completely unwatchable. Anyone that watched one game from the eighties would agree. Do yourself a favor and watch any game from the 1984 Finals. I was a pretty big pro basketball fan from little kid through mid nineties and then it went completely down the tubes. Forget the load management, players forcing their way off of teams, etc. It’s just a god awful product on the court to watch. Style of play sucks in the same way that baseball has deteriorated by being nothing but strikeouts, walks and home runs and starting pitchers that go 3 innings.
On the other hand, you could make a really good argument that college basketball is better than the “old days” with no shot clock or three point line, teams going into stalls, etc even though the stars don’t stick around today. So it’s not about how old you are.

Maybe you're right,but Boomer being at the game and discussed in this thread making the connection possible. Either way, there wasn't a reason for him making it personal, it was just my opinion of the current state of the NBA.
I thought Schiano was so desperate to find an offensive coordinator that he reached out to Boomer.
