This will piss most of you off because it's the usual disrespect by the same idiots who never loved or cared for Rutgers' entrance into the B1G. Rutgers is picked 12th AGAIN for next year. Very little thought went into the selection. Hate seems to be a strong characteristic of certain B1G schools/media. A brainless monkey could do a better job of analyzing the schools and ranking them. The analysis on Rutgers is so generic is beyond dumb.

the key phrase in rankings right now is "way too early". At least wait til June or July when we have a good idea of what rosters will look like. Still a lot of elite recruits left to sign and big time transfers to occur.

Yeah tied for 5th this year with a lot of really close road losses and many convincing home wins. After the early non conference games RU was dynamite. Every team had their losing streaks in conference including us. We played with everyone every game.

When teams think lightly of you that is the time to realize we are now respected in the B1G...Ohio State can talk and guys like Harrison can print their gibberish... the games are won on the court or field... people in the Midwest have no respect for Easterners that is plain and simple...our fans gosh golly gee over how wonderful these country folks are when traveling to away games... then after we lose ...usually in these past 5 years we have lost ....they laugh at how bad we are... payback is a bitch ...Wisconsin and Ohio State may be the most smug...Northwestern ( is the worst) but we have not played them recently in football...just give Greg Schiano a couple of classes with an emphasis on NJ and we will more than hold our own.
I love how he says we took a step back at the end when we actually waxed a top 10 team at home and won at one of the toughest places to play in the Big 10 in our last 2 games

Rutgers is 3-1 against Northwestern overall. Ash lost to NW in 2018 in a close game. NW scored late in the game to win it.

Except a lot of other polls, where there is a little research and thought, have Rutgers ranked nationally in the Top 25 and in the top half of the B1G.

What idiots like this Buckeye writer fail to get is Rutgers has some of the best-recruiting grounds in its backyard. As long as Rutgers can tap into it like they have the last three seasons, then few in the B1G will be able to match us on the court or football field as Schiano cranks up the machine.

I would say 7th for Iowa is fair if Garza does not return. If he does, you have to put them in the top three.

Yeah, his comment about Penn State upgrading their talent when one of the best players in school history is graduating (along with their center) is silly. PSU will most likely be the school taking a step back.
Also doesn't offer any explanation as to why Purdue (who we swept) would be 4 spots ahead of Rutgers other than "being a bit more seasoned". Because if anyone is going to be "more seasoned" next year, it's Rutgers. I mean, we're going to be returning 6 guys who started a significant number of games. How many teams in the country can say that?
This guy obviously hates RU and is worried how quick we are moving up. In 2017 we spanked Ohio State in the BIG 10 Tourney in Washington, DC. I think he still is upset about that. This disrespect might just give our guys another reason for our guys to once again prove people wrong. In 2018-19 we split our 2 games with Ohio State. This past season we only played them once which was at Ohio state and we only lost 72-66. I think this guy will eat his words.I cannot wait until next season.
